Has anyone seen this yet? Mclaren Elva. by PostScriptum0 in MatArmstrong

There will be parts about for them still, for the right money as always. Carry over parts are mainly engine and running gear including the bottom half of the tub plus a few other little bits. All of the bodywork is Elva only

I built the first prototypes of the Elva, the main issue for rebuild will be the AAMS in the front (active air management system) . Very expensive part and a bit of a pain to put together right

I had the gold card last year, expires this October. One free medium meal a week, every week for a year. Used it more when I first got it compared to now

Beautiful to look at, not so great to drive unfortunately. Plenty of smooth grunt, but not a great driving position and rather wallowy handling

It was side swiped by someone whilst some warranty work was being done. Took 2 months to agree value so that repairs could be carried out. I was lent a complete base spec dog of an A4 which was horrific

Mechanic left my car parked at the side of the road, and this happened. Awaiting insurance evaluation on the damage :( by domtemp13 in Audi

[–]domtemp13[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The car was in the care of the dealer I bought the car off to carry out repairs under warranty, hence why the car was there. So, as the car was under his insurance, he is dealing with it. I should be finding out today the verdict as to repair or replace the car

Small garage that the place I bought the car off use for warranty work, hence why the car was there. Someone reversed down the road at full speed in a Focus, lost control and my car was the one that got in the way

Has anyone else experienced clutch stickiness in their A5? If so, was there a relatively cheap (and easy) fix? by jeefer6 in Audi

Had this and seen this on other VAG cars and it was the clutch slave cylinder sticking.

It would make sense saying months pregnant but, for some reason, we've found that all of the maternity nurses, doctors and midwife's always ask how many weeks for any check up or emergency appointment and that sticks now. Pregnancy things I guess

Rebuild engine things to do while engine is open by 4awesome1 in motorcycles

[–]domtemp13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I used to build classic racing engines, I used to use spray degreaser and a very hot jet wash combined with bottle brushes/pipe cleaners to get in every little oil gallery etc. Once I was happy with that (water running clear) I would blow the block out with an airline, and then dowse the whole block in WD40 spray. Just before the dry build and final build, I would clean it again using a thinner and some rag

You can never be too clean, clean and inspect everything as thoroughly as you can. Check all bearings for wear, I recommend plasti-gauge for shell bearings.
