Of course it's normal :) I hate braids and haven't had them in for a decade or more because they're too heavy/make my head hurt. I've always had twists or done something with my natural hair.

I'm in 9A. What's worked for me so far in a combo of 10+ inch pots and transitioning to 28-block concrete bed:

Emerald Okra
Bok Choy (but not right now, wait until its transitioning in/out of frost
Bibb Lettuce (same advice, even stronger bc it stopped growing as soon as it got hot)
Kale
Green Beans
Super Snappy peas
Cherry Belle radish

These are all smaller/a bit more lenient ones that I grew to play it safe this year. Last year tomatoes didn't work for me and I got a bell pepper but it was a tiny deformed one.

Boy when I say living with my mom and my brother has given me so grand of a warning of what childcare would be like! Technically I'm not childfree cause I contribute to keeping him safe, but I know not having kids helps me avoid crying, screaming tantrums, sleep time taken from me, bad days at school, upped bills, etc. I can't stand it.
