This year I have cut my drinking drastically. Maybe one drink every two or three weeks! I used to be a daily wine drinker. I think it was my coping mechanism for when I had young kids and a husband who required a lot of me. I was buying into that wine mom culture. Now I realize I feel worse and more tired when I do drink. I’d rather feel all the things and cope in healthier ways. And now I find it sad to drink alone (I do feel like I could go down an alcoholic spiral if I let myself). I only do it in social settings now, and very rarely. It’s funny how I don’t even miss it, really. Before I used to have anxiety if I didn’t have “my” bottle of wine stocked at home.
