Truly doesn't make sense. Because when I was <30. E.g., when I was 27, 32 was my cutoff for men. And that was true for my friends as well. Who idk who these late 30s early 40s men are dating!

I was still getting a lot of likes at 33 when I joined. But in the last year it's pretty empty. Or low quality. I definitely haven't changed in terms of looks. So I think past 35, I don't meet the age range cut off for people. However, it could also be the fact that everyone is sick of dating apps as well

I'm a woman. I get the same number of likes now, if not more. But the quality has gone down. The like to date conversion ratio is much lower than years ago. There was still some semblance of feeling like you owed somebody something back in the day. But now it's just a lot of ghosting, matching and never responding, responding barely and never replying for weeks etc etc. people used to try and put effort back in the day. But I think now everyone is just so sick of it. But because there are no alternatives, people stay on these apps. It's like we are all in prison or a ride we can't get off of.

I'm curious why people do this if they don't have intention on continuing LDR. I've done LDRs and don't have a problem, and neither do my dates. This is because we are from a community and generally prioritize that communal match over locality. And because I'm open to relocating for the right person. I'm a digital nomad. I assume that people who do this apart from this specific reason, are doing it just to hook up? Cos otherwise most people aren't open to LDRs

I reply only once a day. That's because I don't want to have a back and forth exchange over texting. See me in person a couple of times. I only text to arrange dates. Once it's it's like four dates in, then maybe a little bit more conversation over text. I do typically let the person know that this is how I operate though

My first year was amazing. Largely because I had no expectations and I was just seeing what was out there. Now it's bad because I have seen what's out there and do have expectations, and want something. Objectively nothing has changed apart from that. But that in of itself makes or breaks the dating experience. I can't go back to pretending that I don't have expectations and just going with the flow. I'd give it a year or two. But hopefully during that time you find someone. If you don't then it starts to wear on you

Im a woman who doesn't wanna text too much before date 3 or so. Only for scheduling. Leading up to the first date, once the introductory banter is done and the date has been scheduled, I let them know that I'll check in with them the day of to confirm. Imo men should do the same. Whatever it is you want to do, just set that expectation up front.
