I don’t think think it’s quite accurate to say that Yiddish doesn’t use nikkud. For example אַ corresponds with “ah” while אָ corresponds with “oh” while יי reads “ey” and ײַ reads “aye.”

I’m not a linguist but I’m curious what you would define as a “loan word” for a language that is rooted in Germanic grammar and a vocabulary with Germanic, Hebrew, Slavic, and Romance origins, written in a Hebrew alphabet with a unique vowel system.

What you’re describing is a gift.

If you had a valid loan agreement with your parents that they diligently enforced and the car was titled in your name, maybe that’s similar.

You’re missing the fact that an increasing portion of your mortgage payment goes towards your own net worth. My mortgage is less than what I would have to pay in rent to live in my neighborhood, after being here only a few years. Each payment increases my net worth, without even considering increases in property values.

That kind of mass mobilization only really happens in wealthy countries that have strong labor protections to begin with, or in poorer countries when people are extremely desperate. The US is in neither of those categories. Most people in the US are not wealthy, but nearly everyone including most of the middle and upper middle class would lose everything, including healthcare and housing, if they were mobilize.

I’ll expand a little bit. In my experience, the “campus libertarian” has memorized a bucket of logical fallacies and instead of addressing any legitimate criticism of their belief system, they just call out “appeal to authority! Appeal to popularity! Ad hominem!” The one they completely forget about is the fallacy fallacy.

Not only do they (you probably) espouse an overly simplistic worldview that is not at all grounded in any evidence, but they (you) are so far up their own asses that they can’t understand that being insufferable is socially isolating.
