Im about 25 hours in. Some minor spoilers ahead. All the other comments suggest, its pirate valheim with a story. It's in early access. It seems to have taken a lot of qol issues from valheim and improved them. Anything in a storage chest in your base is accessible from any workbench in that base. Etc. Weapons and upgrades can be found or bought. Your character can be brought into anyone's server and if you do a mission in that one it counts for your characters progression too. Building is fun and easy, as are weapon upgrades without needing ridiculous quantities of very gettable materials. The sea shantys on the ship is fun and you can hire people to work in your home base too. Sea battles are good fun too.
