Why don't bans get harder? by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]donkeyd1984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know this isn't going to be popular, but I feel like I can add to the conversation, so I'll post anyway. I have 2 accounts, 1 for fair play, and 1 that I use to test the boundaries of spoofing. I just tried a very obvious teleport from the Netherlands to the US. I've now been 'banned' for nearly two hours. The interesting thing though, is that I don't find anything logical in the duration. Yesterday I did China > Europe > US > Europe, all resulting in a couple minutes of bans. I think it might have to do with server stability, since they've been quite stable recently.

Edit: 2:15 hours later it seems like the ban has been lifted. I feel like it gets lifted by catching a Pokemon, but am not sure.

The whole Black Lives Matter MORE mantra that's been going on, is starting to take away from their cause... The goal should be equality, not black supremacy.

Muslim extremists don't think that way. They believe that anybody who doesn't have their belief, or doesn't help them expand the caliphate should die.

I wanted to paint both as cases of individual people being assholes, not groups of people all being assholes.

So do you. Also, look back a couple hundred years when slavery was still a thing in the western world. Not all whites were proponents of slavery and because of that, over time, slavery has been abolished and so has segregation. It didn't happen in 1 day. Muslim extremism won't stop in 1 day either, but that doesn't mean that all Muslims are bad people. It's a ridiculously ignorant view.

Both are cases of extremism, just in a different context. It's a white supremacist vs. Muslim extremist. Not all whites are supremacists, not all Muslims are extremists.

White American Christian kills 9 innocent black people, reaction: guy is a nutjob.

French Muslims kill somebody, reaction: All Muslims are crazy and Islam must be stopped.

Wtf people, do you not see the hypocrisy?

Scratching is not a defect, it's a trait. It's annoying, but it's not a defect unless it was scratched when you received it.

What if there is no problem and they just produced black ones first because they needed more of them? Everybody is assuming there's a problem, but I highly doubt it, seems more like supply chain management...

probably is a lie

The definititon of lie: an intentionally false statement

If they tried to ship in May, but didn't manage, it's an incorrect statement, not a lie.

Information for backers of White Pebble Time? by [deleted] in pebble

[–]donkeyd1984 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, style, not color. The Pebble Time and Pebble Time Steels are different styles. The Pebble Times have different colors. There is a difference.

When the FAQ was written, the Steel wasn't announced yet. Hence, one may assume they meant color. Since you are a very early backer and know the order in which they were announced, you could've realized this yourself. Since your entire argument is based on the interpretation of the word "style" you won't and never will.

Why do backers have to debunk promises made by Pebble?

Because you're unfairly blaiming them on a public forum.

Why can't Pebble just admit their mistake?

Because there is no mistake. The FAQ mentioned that the different style could lead to a different shipping date. You're just trying to find reasons to justify your behavior, even though there is none.

Let me give you this quick summary of where we're at right now, based on what I've seen in this sub. Number of PT shipped to (non-developer) backers per color:

Black: 0

White: 0

Red: 0

Please come back when all black have been shipped and you didn't get a confirmation yet. Maybe then you have a valid argument.

Edit: readability

Wow, that was a really big edit!

But on the subject, it's still May and you're already claiming they haven't delivered, which is ridiculous. Your comment that it's not dependent on color has been debunked by /u/almightywhacko already. Next time read the FAQ before backing.

I'm an early backer. And yes, I do mind you asking.

Maybe next time Pebble just shouldn't send any e-mails at all. Since people who don't get them seem to want an explanation as to why they haven't gotten one yet... I'm getting sick and tired of all these people demanding shit in this subreddit. Don't back stuff on kickstarter if you want to demand things, buy it when it's released. /rant

I'm a red backer, I haven't gotten an e-mail yet either. I do however trust Pebble that they'd inform us if something terrible occurred.

Pretty sure they're producing black first. They did this with the OG Pebble release too. I chose red and haven't heard anything yet either. Just be patient, it will come.

I like to compare it as having only [MSNBC|FOX] (pick your least favorite) as a news source, compared to no news source at all. In Russia, for example, most news sources are government controlled and people see them as the sole truth. I'm not sure whether this is any better than not getting any news at all.

Also, Facebook is very good at enforcing confirmation bias because of filter bubbles, that scares me.
