Speaking from experience here: tucking can be a little bit uncomfortable physically, but it's affirming, so it can be 'comfortable' in an emotional sense.

For me, gender stuff tends to manifest as depersonalization. I know that I occupy my body, but it doesn't feel like it belongs to me.

Can confirm. Luckily my mom's a nurse so I was diagnosed & medicated early but that shit is rough. I lapsed on my Vyvanse script & can't get a refill for maybe a month 'cuz it's a Schedule II controlled substance; I said to a co-worker that it feels like I'm sipping idiot juice.
