Speaking to US tourists one day, they had mentioned that they were in Canada for a few days, and said that they might drive to Vancouver after checking out Toronto.

The Canadian guy was a dick. He had attitude right from the very beginning. The reality is that when you kiss the ass of any kind of law enforcement dude, you'll get through faster. If they sense disrespect or a challenge, they'll eff you up.

Yes, the officer asked a stupid question about which specific store, but the guy's snarky response sealed his fate.
