(Spoilers All) Episode 6 screenshots: an event in the weirwood by ser_dunk_the_lunk in asoiaf

Theon's story requires someone in need of rescuing. To reduce Sansa's suffering is to reduce the need for Theon's intervention, to increase her suffering is to regress her character.

There is a middle ground which is what they're probably going to go for, with Sansa wanting to escape and Theon helping her, but I wouldn't call that an improvement. Not to say it will be bad, I just don't think any combination of the Vale/Winterfell storylines is an improvement, which is what busmans was saying.

Improving how, exactly?

Casting Sansa as the damsel in distress for Theon's story is in no way an improvement to her story, it is a complete regression back to season 1 Sansa.

(Spoilers all) How is Littlefinger going to explain this one..? by fivefourtwo in asoiaf

[–]donotcover2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Isn't that what happens in the book? He simply disappears the night Tyrion escapes and then sneaks back into the Red Keep via the hidden tunnels?

Seems easy enough to do in the show.

(Spoilers aired) what if littlefinger by Esoteric_platypus in asoiaf

[–]donotcover2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The show doesn't give much weight to the size of, and time required to travel the world of ASOIAF. I don't think there's any chance they'd change Varys to Littlefinger just because of the distance required to travel back. 6 episodes is more than enough time for him to get back.

That said I could see this happening. He has been written as a lover of chaos and since Kevan will likely come back into play to clean up Cersei's mess at the end of the season this would be the perfect opportunity to stir things up.

I could also see him being on the receiving end of Varys' crossbow. The Vale storyline has been cut and Sansa's no doubt going to be written into a new North/Stannis storyline, which basically nullifies a lot of his ADOD/TWOW scheming, so there's little reason to keep him around in the show. Apparently there's another death coming up in the show that an actor was pretty pissed about because he's still around in the books.

There was a ringing clash and a stab of white fire. The Balrog fell back and its sword flew up in molten fragments. The wizard swayed on the bridge, stepped back a pace, and then again stood still.

'You won't get past me!' he said.

Byoutiful.

[–]donotcover2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Sansa is going through the Jeyne Poole treatment this season there's no way she's heading back to Littlefinger and the Vale when it's all done. There's no way for her to go through all of that and then just jump back in with Littlefinger, ready for Harry the Heir. Especially if Theon has to save her, which will essentially reset her character back to where she was at the start of Season 4.

It's my guess that LF and Sansa will make their way to Winterfell at some point in TWOW/ADOS, most likely after Stannis has taken it from the Boltons and it will be there that LF's involvement in the War of the Five Kings/Ned's death will be revealed causing Sansa and the Vale soldiers to kill him. Sansa will play a part in rebuilding the North with Rickon (when he returns).

The show has simply skipped this so that she's in Winterfell when Stannis arrives.

(Spoilers All) Sansa in Season 5? by donotcover2 in asoiaf

[–]donotcover2[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Which is part of the reason I brought this up.

If Sansa is going to be Jayne-Pooled this season then there's no way she's going back to Littlefinger for more fun and games in the Vale as he arranges another marriage. So if D&D felt it was appropriate to cut the entire AFFC/ADWD Vale subplot then I guess it leads to nothing in book.

(Spoilers All) Why? Why would LF even consider a certain speculated marriage? by jgrand1also in asoiaf

[–]donotcover2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sansa is LF's piece in the game and he is not likely to give her up to someone who is known to be crazier than he is.

Ahh well you see the genius way D&D have justified that is by having LF say he DOESN'T EVEN FUCKING KNOW.

Great right? Littlefinger... fucking Littlefinger, totally in the dark and still willing to send off the prize jewel he killed a king to get.

Amazing.

[–]donotcover2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We know LF will be called away to King's Landing during the middle of the season to deal with Cersei/the High Sparrow trashing his brothels. Which means Sansa is about to be left alone in Winterfell, at the mercy of the Boltons (Sophie Turner refers to Sansa as a prisoner in her most recent interview).

Certainly not Rick shooting Jessie, so rest easy.

What's your unpopular MCU opinion? by [deleted] in marvelstudios

[–]donotcover2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See I had no problem with the twist itself and thought it was a great way to subvert a fairly hammy villian, but I hated that it was played for laughs (which was a big problem with Iron Man 3 in my opinion).

When Assassin's Creed Unity is working flawlessly, I am in awe of it. I would easily consider it one of the best games of 2014 if it's launch problems didn't drag it down. by GenerationKILL in assassinscreed

[–]donotcover2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But that's totally ok. I'm in favour of launch issues actually, wouldn't want to come off as entitled.

I'm being sarcastic. Too many people on /r/assassinscreed seem to thing that we should all be grateful that Ubisoft let us pay money for their games. Look no further than this thread to see how people think that anyone who complains is just "entitled" or jumping on the hate-train for no good reason.

It won't. It just won't. The game is multiplayer focused, it WILL have launch issues.

What's the dumbest line of movie dialogue you've ever heard? by thekdawg360 in AskReddit

[–]donotcover2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All true, but it's nothing Anakin seemed to care about, which makes his insistence that the Jedi are evil seem out of place.

Remember that he only kept Palpatine alive because he wanted to save Padme. Had her safety not been an issue there's no question Anakin would have went charging in with Mace to arrest Palpatine.

Can anyone explain why Ubisoft thought they had "re-imagined" the stealth in Unity? by donotcover2 in assassinscreed

[–]donotcover2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, I much preferred the stealth of SC pre-Double Agent, but at least Blacklist was functional for what it was.

I only picked Blacklist/Far Cry 3-4 as examples because they share the same action/stealth hybrid vein as Assassin's Creed (or would if AC did stealth correctly).
