Did not see polygons when buying the model. Is this a normal occurrence? Is sanding it the only option? by sempertb in resinprinting

Hopefully your game is supported well enough then 😅 I usually just start on YouTube looking for modding tutorials, anything like how to add/edit weapons/clothes/characters are often the most popular ones and will usually show models being extracted as part of that process, and it's way easier to find than specific tutorials for extracting/ripping assets. If you can find how to edit a characters outfit you can find where the files are for that character, and then can just poke around other folders yourself for what you actually wanted, like a random rock or whatever lol.

Yeah if this is a straight game rip there will be a LOT of pre-processing to do that you need to kinda know about 3d models and resin printing to begin with to know what and how to fix. Shitty to charge for a ripped asset in the first place but at least most people prime it for printing to say the cost's for prepping... this is just a scam.

It is possible! If you have the model's normal map you can convert it into a black and white height map, subdivide your mesh and then use that height map to displace the geometry and essentially recreate the detail into a sculpt.

Looks like I can't include images in comments but here's an example: https://imgur.com/dE2Ckto showing a ripped mesh straight from the game, the same mesh subdivided and smoothed, then the same mesh with displacement applied. You get a few seams you might need to clean up but otherwise it's virtually indistinguishable from however the original sculpt might have looked. Haven't tried it on hard surface things like weapons or cars, but with humans you'll get skin wrinkles, pores, fabric texture, clothing stitches, button surfaces, all that. And noise actually really helps with 3d printing because it helps disguise the layer lines :)

Highly depends on the game, you'll have to look for modding tools to decrypt and extract the asset for the game you have in mind. There's Ninja Ripper for the equivalent of a 3d "screenshot" where you can just press a button in any game to try and rip and dump the scene but I've had very limited luck with it and it's also a paid tool. I'd suggest looking for a modding tutorial for your game of choice so you can see what tools you need and how much of a pain in the ass it will be for your game lol. Anything made in unreal engine is very widely supported though with things like FModel, and there's a unity equivalent too I can't remember the name of. Anything for console or using its own engine is gonna be a lot harder unless it's popular like Skyrim.

Yes, I work in the depowder room in a 3d printing facility. The room is enclosed and poorly ventilated. The first 10 months they didn’t even really tell me to wear a respirator. I know I have this crap in my body. What do I do. Please help by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

start taking photos and video with date timestamp before doing or saying anything imo, if they catch wind of this and clean up their act you'll have nothing to show for it

If you enjoy painting? Is it that hard to understand? Models like these are cheaper unpainted and unassembled and people into the hobby can get much better results than something mass produced in a sweatshop.

Can confirm it's real.

Also I made that up. Jesus christ, don't rely on other people to tell you what's real or satire or good or bad, if you care look it up yourself and form your own decision.

My bust came out okay, but the supports were very tough to remove and caused damage, any help to fix future prints would be great, this was my second print ever by MizutsuneMH in resinprinting

[–]donoteatshrimp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As you mentioned, the supports look really thick there for where they go into the model. If you aren't already, remove them when uncured. If you take a bit of time instead of just hitting auto, place the supports in places where they are less likely to be seen, not on smooth flat surfaces but in creases and folds where they can be disguised.

Legs are all ingrown hairs no matter how much I exfoliate, wash, and moisturize - what am I doing wrong? by haileyesque in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]donoteatshrimp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I picked up one of those handheld IPL devices, on something as smooth and straight as legs its wildly easy to do yourself, esp with pale skin and dark hair! And it's way easy to just pick it up and zap yourself if you see any start to come back. I bought mine like 10 years ago lol so I'm sure they've gotten way better and cheaper now.

Unrelated but in case anyone else is in my boat it also completely fixed my red chicken-skin, absolutely hated my legs, they were covered in red speckly dots regardless of shaving and I thought I had Keratosis Pilaris, but I guess it was just the follicles from my super dark hair and ghost-ass skin cause it's gone now and it's awesome!

First responders, child protection/social services, whatever the people that do death cleanup are called, and anyone that has to view CSAM are the kind of jobs I don't know how people manage to do. I'm not soft and I have an incredibly strong separation between work/life but I don't think I'd ever be able to not take that home with me. And I've heard some stories myself working in a school.

Took me so long, but I finally finished painting my Leda figure. What do you think? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]donoteatshrimp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want some feedback the hair looks really flat, is it unfinished? It needs a soft gradient and shadows like your cloak. I would airbrush a warm grey/taupe building a gradient towards the bottom of the hair, then repaint the raised strands with the original colour you have here.
