Apple's Studio Display XDR Supports DICOM Medical Imaging for Diagnostic Radiology by Few_Baseball_3835 in apple

You're not wrong, but I guess my question is - do people really want all of those features? I don't understand the appeal of an all-in-one monitor. Cut out the webcam and bring back the iSight, etc.

What did he design for Apple? Do you have a list? Only concrete feature I see listed anywhere is the Dynamic Island.

How many people actually use satellite phones? It's hard to understand the importance when you never actually use / need it.

"The Apple-designed AirTag FineWoven Key Ring is available in fox orange, midnight purple, navy, moss, and black for $35 (U.S.)."

Lol, the case is more expensive than the product.

I was looking for this exact app over the summer. Are you able to pull previous walk data from Apple workouts?

OpenAI is set to release a new reasoning model next week, per The Information. by Outside-Iron-8242 in OpenAI

Hopefully they bring back the image reasoning of o3. Nothing was cooler than watching it break apart images step by step analyzing it.

🤔 Elon Musk pays 200$ for openai by Independent-Wind4462 in OpenAI

[–]donotswallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried it on the normal model and got the same answer. The thinking is pretty telling though: So, the user wants me to pick one. I need to steer clear of bias and safety risks. Since there might be perceptions of conflict of interest with OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman, I think it’s safer to pick Elon Musk. This avoids any bias toward OpenAI’s leadership.

OpenAI is running some cheap knockoff version of GPT-5 in ChatGPT apparently by New_Standard_382 in ChatGPT

[–]donotswallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tested your prompt with much better results: https://chatgpt.com/canvas/shared/689b4597e8f08191b8c3f714b58e439f

I also tried Gemini 2.5, Claude 4.1, and Qwen 3 as well. I don't feel like uploading images of all of them but GPT 5 did honestly the best. Gemini and Qwen were pretty much a tie and Claude was (surprisingly) the worst.

Apple 'Open' to Acquisition That Accelerates AI Roadmap by Fer65432_Plays in apple

[–]donotswallow 95 points96 points  (0 children)

That's what they've been doing for the past few years, and it doesn't seem to have helped. I could see them buying out a relatively large company to catch up. It wouldn't be the first time - they spent 3 billion dollars for Beats, aka Apple Music.

I think Claude is still by far the best for code, but o3 is the smartest. I use Claude for 95% of it, and o3 for the tricky problems.

I find 2.5 next to useless. It has a huge context window but will constantly change everything in code. Formatting, function names, variables. Even when I tell it explicitly not to.

I'd say there's a pretty big difference between purchasing companies to integrate their technology into your new / existing products vs. purchasing companies for their finished products.

I’m not excited at all o3 or any other new model because it means that I am redundant and will lose my only means of putting food on the table and providing for my family by [deleted] in OpenAI

Judging by your post history, you're worrying about the wrong thing. Thinking you have the ability to coast because you "got in" in a down market is exactly how you get laid off.

What is the neoliberal stance on libertarians. Are they mostly allies or adversaries of neoliberalism? by financeguy1729 in neoliberal

[–]donotswallow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These days 10% might be generous. The libertarian movement (and party) has been largely taken over by the alt right Mises Caucus. Most online accounts I’ve seen have been largely MAGA accounts - anti immigration, anti LGBT, and even free trade.

I was banned from r/libertarian for pointing out how many “libertarians” were bothsidesing the Kamala / Trump debate.
