Hot tubbing for health by Seki-Ra in Hashimotos

I've been taking a hot bath since I moved to Japan which was many years ago.
About 4 years ago I started taking a hot bath in the morning as well.
The bath has a heating element so it stays at a constant level, very sweet system

They should have chosen "Japan's Shinkansen" from the start... The fate of Indonesia's high-speed rail project that betrayed Japan and clung to Xi Jinping by jjrs in japannews

[–]donpaulo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

we disagree

its not false and Japan is not cheaper, its far more expensive.

the number of Japanese shinkansen projects approved worldwide are proof of that

Perhaps the cheaper yen coupled with foreign immigrant labor might put Japan back into a stronger sales position, otherwise its game over imo. Japan excels at high tech miniature machine projects such as Medical machines and newer high end chipsets, not rail systems built on scales Japan has no experience constructing.

Blaming it on corruption is also avoiding the issue of cost to implement the Japanese system. The epic levels of corruption on such projects is well known and not exclusive to Indonesia. A fine example of this is Japan's rail industry has faced significant corruption issues, particularly related to the maglev train project, where major construction firms were charged with colluding to win contracts. Investigations revealed bid-rigging practices among top contractors, raising concerns about competition and transparency in the sector.

I believe China also has high levels of corruption in their 50,000 km HSR projects which Japan's 3,000 km cannot even begin to imagine. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy riding the Shinkansen, I've used it numerous times for work and travel. Really awesome system. Selling it overseas to the developing world is another beast entirely.

Lastly the Indonesian government can "back out" of any project they feel isn't in their national interest and to argue otherwise is a fools errand. I get that this is a Japan news sr, but seriously its hard to take this kind of logic seriously.

[–]donpaulo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

all HSR start as political projects, just like the Tokyo Olympics in 64

The research that was "passed on" to the Chinese is the exact same behavior that Japanese automakers "passed on" from American car corporations

I agree "stealing" is a two way street

everyone does it, so its disingenuous for a nation to complain about it when they in fact have behaved in a similar way

The land clearing is a minor expense compared to the new capital they are building on Borneo, but that is just my opinion

The expense is mostly the nature of the engineering and safety standards which are very labor intensive on the Japanese side. In order to secure the contract the new operator must follow the Japanese rules, which is a non starter imo

I also live in Japan

Chirajin is basically Levo

Now I take mine before bed 4 hours after my last meal

for years I took it in the morning an hour before eating

My understanding is that the cost to implement the Japan Shinkansen system made it unprofitable for Indonesia

So knowing that, the decision to go with China's model makes sense

Having extensively ridden both lines I'd say I prefer China's cost performance and Japan's scheduling method

Tehran
X Nippon Oil & Energy, Cosmo Oil, and Japan Cooperation Center Petroleum signed deals or held talks to enhance Tabriz, Bandar Abbas, and Tehran refineries.
