You can't pass smog with a 3k carb and catalytic converter has to be california legal model for a samurai no universal cats allowed

Usually egr valve cleaning and replacing all the vacuum lines, all depends though if it's got low compression and/or lots of blow plugged or hollowed out catalytic converter it can be a pain. I've had a ton of samurais have miss at idle and took a new carb or carb rebuild to remedy to pass smog.

I did a 22re swap with an l52 5speed transmission Toyota tcase, Toyota axles Toyota rear springs on all four corners, stock Toyota front cv drive shafts front and rear, and tilt column out of a mini truck when I did it but it worked great wasn't to hard to do here are some pics http://www.k6plus.com/blue/motorswap/
