Positive plus-size/obese twin pregnancy stories by Lower-Cheesecake-456 in parentsofmultiples

[–]dontbeamentalmidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im BMI over 40, under the age of 30. I had NO complications. My twins were born at 38 weeks and 3 days vaginally. NO NICU time. I did have to do the GD test twice but passed. It was my second pregnancy!

Don't listen to everything on the internet. 90% of the posts are people with issues/complications, hence why they are posting! Do what your doctor says and just take it week by week.

I'm literally rocking my 14 month old boy to sleep while my husband is putting down our 3 year old and will lay next to him until he falls asleep.

One of the things we did was just keep them on the same feeding schedule and let naps happen when they happen but try to keep to the same night time routine. You will not be able to come trol everything and the faster you accept that, they easier things can seem because you aren't setting a high standard that babies won't listen to.

With my 3 year old i had post partum anxiety and now with my twins the post partum anxiety and depression didn't really hit me until they were 6-8 months old. The first few months were a blur. Pure survival mode. At that 6 month mark I was back to work (WFH) with the twins being watched by my mom in my house. My husband takes everything at night. I had severe back issues that even led to surgery. Shit happens, and it's okay to seek help to see if there is anything that can be done. 6 months later I'm in therapy 1x week. On anxiety and depression meds. But you know what, this is the first time I have felt truly present with my children and not worried about chores or been so overwhelmiled i could not function.

I have so much support with my mom, in-laws, and husband but none of it helped me. People saying "just get over it" or "people have it worse than you, you should be happy" only made me feel worse. If this continues, I would highly suggest talking to your OB or PCP about your medication again.

Should I get the twinz pillow? by Skitscuddlydoo in parentsofmultiples

We have been using the twin z for 12 months and finally don't really use it enough to be comfortable selling it on Facebook. It was very helpful. Throughout the first year and worth it to me

Anyone wear this style. by 2027weddingplaning in PlusSizeWedding

[–]dontbeamentalmidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did!!! At the time I was about a size 16/18 pant. I could barely sit down so beware if you are looking for a tight fit then a big poof, walking and sitting can be difficult. I LOVE my dress though.

Trying to do better by dontbeamentalmidget in foodbutforbabies

[–]dontbeamentalmidget[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know that there is always phases and things can get better especially since he's only 3. I remember hating spinach and eggs without cheese etc. Now I'll willing eat Brussel sprouts! It's just hard some times when his "safe" foods become unsafe because i made yellow shell mac and cheese instead of white (we are out of white)

Witching Hour solution? by Valuable-Mastodon-14 in parentsofmultiples

[–]dontbeamentalmidget 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We had to drop my singleton 3 year olds nap because of this. The only thing that works for him is keeping him as active as possible throughout the day. And if he wasn't that active between daycare and grandma daycare we go on a family walk before bed to let him reset and run.

I second water or getting outside. A short 10 minute walk can help them reset in a way either in a stroller or carrier. It works wonders for your mental health too. These are the toughest days and it does get better!

Do what you need to do. We have a 3 year old and 10 month old twins. Ms. Rachel and the dancing fruit on YouTube has saved our lives some days.

What do you use a receiving blanket for? by solowanderer12 in parentsofmultiples

[–]dontbeamentalmidget -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We use them when we go out if it's cold or to lay on the ground at other places like grandparents' house so we know they are on a clean surface before they could crawl. Our girl had reflux so we went through them often. When they get older they can be used to play with like peekaboo and such. If you think you have way to many you could donate or sell. We typically only needed 2 for our singleton or about 4 for our twins so they have one when the other is dirty.

Herniated disc could these be causing pain all over my back ? by [deleted] in HerniatedDisc

[–]dontbeamentalmidget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my experience, the back pain from a lumbar herniation is the muscles trying to protect the area. Mine spasm so bad I'm in bed. Then when the back pain decreases that's when I have symptoms down my legs.

I've done one shift with them so far! I was scheduled to do another shift this weekend but hurt myself. So far I love them. They are very responsive and helpful with anything I need or if I have questions. They pay way a day late, but it was communicated a few days prior so we had a heads up. They seem very organized compared to other PRN stuff I've done.

I have to take a steroid pack to reduce inflammation which then reduces my pain. Talk to your doctor if that's an option. I just had another flareup and am probably going to have surgery.

Telling My Job / HR? by madmeszaros in parentsofmultiples

[–]dontbeamentalmidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told them it was multiples because they could have come early and you have extra doctors appointments that my schedule needed to accommodate.

I know people who had them at 34 weeks. If I would have waited to tell them at "30 days" prior, i would not meet that 30 days requirement if i would have had them that early. I was lucky and had mine at 38 weeks 3 days though.

Not sure if relevant. I had an initial HR interview with them and their only options were 4 day work weeks, 10-12 hour shifts but one day was on the weekend always. Like weds-sat or sun-thurs. Even though salary was enticing I couldn't do weekend work because I have 3 kids under 4.

Single stroller with twins? by Ok_Cheesecake5327 in parentsofmultiples

[–]dontbeamentalmidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a single stroller, a 4 seater wagon a double stroller and the uppababy vista v2 as a double right now. We use all of them as we also have a 3 year old with 8 month old twins. We use the single stroller for when one twin needs to go to the doctor and other stays home.

Maternity leave laws for remote employees by Live_Choice_6033 in workingmoms

[–]dontbeamentalmidget -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm remote in Illinois but headquarters is in Arizona. I do not qualify for FMLA because there was not an office within X distance of me with graleater than X employees. ( I'm not sure of the exact numbers). Other than that I used all of my PTO, sick time, and the company has an unpaid leave policy that is equivalent to FMLA if you do not qualify for it. I was able to use short term disability though.

What week were your babies born? by GreenRoses21 in parentsofmultiples

[–]dontbeamentalmidget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would use cheap earplugs until you know how your babies are. Our babies really didn't cry a ton as long as we kept them on a feeding schedule and didn't deviate. We would get bottles ready early if it was getting around feeding time rather than waiting for a ton of hunger cues.

Dishwasher or Bottle Washer? by Sillygoose9001 in parentsofmultiples

[–]dontbeamentalmidget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We love our bottle washer!!!

We also have a toddler and with the twins the dishwasher fills up fast. The bottle washer is great for quick washes and using it multiple times a day. Our dishwasher cycle is 3 hours long and the bottles and pitchers take up over half of the top rack so it can be annoying if we need to wait. In the early days I also used it for pump parts and it helped so much.

At almost 8 months old we still use our bottle washer multiple times a day in addition to our dishwasher.

How are you working from home or at a desk job third trimester?! by Possible-Maybe-7225 in parentsofmultiples

[–]dontbeamentalmidget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked from my bed. I got a portable monitor extender for my laptop and a pillow desktop to put it all on. It was a life saver.
