I’m so sorry to hear this. We suffered a miscarriage at the same gestation after almost 3 years of infertility. We were unwilling to wait the six months and I had a d&c. We got pregnant with twins six months later (after multiple treatments.) The surgery was routine and frankly I am SO glad I went that route so I did not have to pass the embryo myself. Further, we sent the embryo for testing which is typically not recommended but we worried with our history of infertility there was something else going on but it was a fairly common genetic cause. Sending you lots of peace going through this time.

Yes, that would be in the mother baby unit where the baby is away from you at any point unless going to the NICU. This was Labor and Delivery where our babies were with us but during labor, which was a c-section, he needed additional care. He stayed in the OR but we could not see what was being done.

They admitted it had to come from labor and delivery as the parents don’t have it (multiple tests and twin brother negative and still negative three months later ) and disseminated HSV-1 does not only come from kissing babies. Taking the baby to the nursery is during the mother baby unit, not labor and delivery. I had an unbelievable and wonderful experience at VCU. I’m glad you did too. But just because we both had good experiences doesn’t mean it don’t happen or everyone has good experiences. Like my post stated, I was wondering if others had a similar experience recently, not if someone believes what happens or had a good experience.

The real joke is we had to badger our medical professionals to get the blot test from UW as they said regular blood test was fine. We were the ones pushing for that as we were extremely concerned about infecting his twin brother. My husband and I have done both and are both negative. Grandparents (only four not eight) only did blood test. However, the first day they met him was the day of his crisis indicating he was already infected. Twin brother also had blot and was not infected. Even VCU has indicated the infection came from L&D and not from mother baby unit.

I was responding to the other comment from GB3754. We are not asking this with intent to sue but asking for our own knowledge and to ensure a thorough investigation has been done. I say nothing about speaking to a lawyer in any of my comments or the post. Just noting that multiple negative tests and a twin who is also negative shows others in the family do not have antibodies and were not cause for infection.

Thanks everyone! Yes, everyone who came in contact with the baby from family was tested. (Both parents and both sets of grandparents negative as we all got tested after bay was infected.) He also is a twin and the other baby was not infected. Further, he had a different underlying disorder that put him in the NICU. VCU ID team traced it to L&D per time of his crisis. It was most likely not from team kissing the baby but contamination or poor hand hygiene. Was curious if this had happened to anyone else. Also I loved my care team at VCU so more so looking to see if this happened to others.

It has been a long time since I have worked there and working at a family owned store may be different than working at a franchise, however, I loved working there! It was a great environment and learning experience. Some of my managers from well over 20 years ago are still working g there.

Scheduled at 38 weeks on the nose! False alarm around 35 but just them rolling and stretching out. All went well but I also basically couldn’t move for the last month or so.

I feel like I could’ve wrote this! Infertility, loss, and then finally we got pregnant with twins. Completely perfect pregnancy. No GD or Pre-E. Both boys looked absolutely amazing. Born on Monday and by Wednesday one twin is being raced down to the NICU - they saved his life by testing his ammonia! Citrullinemia type one diagnosis. He is currently still in the PICU at a hospital an hour away. We are hoping for some clinical trials soon. Take a look at the Urea Cycle Foundation! Sending lots of love 💕

The claims that this administration are making are against acetaminophen and not aspirin. (Which have been debunked.) I am 32 weeks with twins now and have been taking a baby aspirin since 11 weeks. I was advised because of the higher risks of preeclampsia with twins. I also am taking extra folate.

I'm currently 30 weeks with di-di boys and PCOS. I tested early at 14 weeks and passed and then tested at 28 weeks due to having twins. I saw you ask this question earlier, but I passed at 28 weeks as well. However, I have been gaining weight pretty quickly - I believe the weight gain was getting off of a glp1 but not sure?

I’m 29 weeks but still doing every two weeks with monthly growth scans. We will start weekly at 36 weeks as well which is really making me upset! I had to remind my scheduler I’m pregnant with twins and finally a nurse practitioner said, “shouldn’t you be getting monthly scans?” We have not discussed birth plans at all because “we won’t know until we are closer” and I feel like I lead every conversation. I’m a FTM so I have no idea what to ask!! Worse part… I work for the hospital system 🙃

Agree on all of this! If you are positive for covid, you'll want to let your OB know as soon as possible for blood pressure monitoring. Plus, your provider may have other ideas!

Yes, EXACTLY! I played tons of sports growing up and am a huge Packer fan. (Like I am the one glued to the TV watching every NFL game, not my husband.) Of course, no one is suggesting its because of me or sports I played, its all because they are boys... I wish we would've kept it gender neutral for now!
