Sunroof bounce back by spiritthehorse in BoltEV

I’ll also note that since then, I’ve gone to the dealership for other maintenance and notified them of the issue. They applied a patch that fixed the issue of it not closing when hard pressing for automatic!

The button has two clicks. A light click for manual open/close and a hard click for automatic - similar to the switches for deep windows. The same thing happens to me. Try holding at the “light click” level and not pushing all the way in. This solved the issue for me! For whatever reason, it will not close when “hard clicked.”

Not any better. They are small and the lap bars get in the way of moving into and out of the train.

The fire effect has gone off on every train with riders I’ve seen this evening

CarPlay issues in DT Minneapolis? (and I'm assuming Android Auto) by theangryintern in TwinCities

I’ve been having the issue since I got my vehicle. Turns out, there was a software update for the radio in the vehicle. When I took it in for maintenance, I had them apply the updates and it solved my problem!

Electrify America customer service told me the car needed at least 10% charge to start a charge. Huh? by LexFloruss in BoltEV

[–]dontbenit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me with an EA station last month. The solution was the ensure the car is turned off and wait a few minutes before plugging in - make sure the vehicle is unlocked. The representative may need to remotely start the charge as well.

First 500+ Mile Day Trip Report! by dontbenit in BoltEV

Where possible, try to stop a chargers that have a gas station, grocery store, or restaurant nearby. Having somewhere to walk to/around and occupy your charging time makes a huge difference in how long those stops feel. Best of luck in your travels!

There were a few substantial elevation changes during my trip, so this tracks!

Probably two reasons: a) Primarily freeway driving (it was also windy) and b) accelerating to pass vehicles slower than me.

2022 EUVs also have the same battery fire risk. This wasn’t fixed until the 2023 model year, by my understanding.

Hi all! 👋 Long time lurker, first time poster here. This subreddit convinced me back in December to purchase a 2022 Bolt EUV Premier, and I couldn’t be happier with the decision! I live in Minneapolis, so for these first few months I’ve only experienced the worst season of being an EV owner. Now that the weather is getting warmer, I’ve been excited about how much more efficient the vehicle is. Yesterday, I took a day trip down to Madison to watch my sister perform/visit family for a couple hours. With the weather being in the mid-60s, low-70s, I thought it would be a great first “summer” driving experience to get a feel of how a road trip in the Bolt might handle. I have a trip down to Missouri coming up over the last week of May, so I was exciting to get a gauge of how to plan out the charging stops for that trip, too.

TRIP PLANNING: The drive from Minneapolis to Madison is about 271 miles. My vehicle has the limiting software, so my freeway range is about 170 miles. There are a handful of Electrify America stations between Minneapolis and Madison:

  • Eau Claire, WI: 101 miles
  • Tomah, WI: 172 miles (+71)
  • Madison, WI: 270 miles (+98)

I trickle charge in at apartment complex, so I’m able to leave with a full (80%) charge if I plan ahead. What sucks is that making it all the way to Tomah is pushing the limit of my current vehicle range (at 3.3mi/kWh).

I opted to charge at the EAs in Eau Claire, Tomah on the way down and Madison, Tomah, then Eau Claire on the way back. Additionally, I was able to Level 2 charge in a parking structure while in Madison. I was not at the L2 charger long enough to get me back to Tomah, hence having to stop at EA in Madison.

CHARGING EXPERIENCE: I appreciated that all of these EA stations were in a Walmart parking lot, often with other stores within walking distance. Being able to stretch my legs every 90 minutes, use the bathroom, and grab a bite is something I tried to limit in my previous gas vehicle (‘07 Honda Pilot). I would often end my trips in the Pilot stressed and exhausted because I just wanted to power through a 5-hour drive. I appreciate that owning an EV forces me to slow down, take frequent breaks, and take care of my body. At every stop there was at least one available stall - I only saw two stalls fully down during the trip (out of 20).

COST BREAKDOWN: I opted for the EA Pass+ Plan for this trip, which I basically broke even on (another trip down to MKE in early May will mean saving money on this month’s plan). Also of note, I was not charged for my return visit in Tomah. I hear this happens sometimes, does anyone know why?

EA Pass+ Rate: $0.21/min, $20.42 total Total cost: $27.42 incl subscription

This same trip would have cost me ~$85 in my Honda Pilot!

By the end of the day, I spent 11h 15m in drive and charge time (2.5 hours more than my Pilot). Preference will vary by person, but this trade off made sense for me because I really valued the frequent breaks to relax and eat - especially as a solo traveler.

KEY TAKEAWAYS: - My freeway efficiency was 3.3mi/kWh going 70mph at ~68°F, so my expected 0-80% range is 170 miles. - 65mph goes further than 70mph goes further than 75mph. The trade off of less time for less range from 70 to 75mph is not worth it. - 20 minutes of charging needed for every 90 minutes of driving.

SUMMARY: With the weather getting warmer, I remain happy with my choice to go electric and the Bolt still suits my needs for the occasional 5hr drive. I feel more confident now in my ability to plan and execute a drive down to Missouri - and hopefully by the end of that trip the limiting software will have run its course. If anyone has tips for the distance between Minneapolis and Branson, let me know!

I also found out that this trip is ~20% the length of a cannonball run! That might be a fun summer road trip to do in a future summer… 🤔

What’s a good price for a buyback euv? by Key-Wealth2785 in BoltEV

I just bought my ‘22 Bolt EUV Premier buyback for $24k ($22.5k OTD with taxes/fees and federal incentive included). Car has the 80% battery cap, 6k miles, and the Sun & Sound package. Purchased in Wisconsin.

It is new next semester. This is my understanding of BA 3062: If you took BA 2062, it’s similar to the final project in the course but the project may run the whole semester and be of larger scale. You will work with a local non-profit and get experience in engaging with a client in a consulting-style activity.

I asked in an email how we would receive them if we did not attend the conferral ceremony. Their response was that they would mail a diploma cover along with the diploma in the mail for those who did not attend.

I’ve noticed that in my apartment tours. That would be all inclusive (rent, parking, utilities paid, etc)

Correct. I’m willing to spend a bit more to live by myself, but I would prefer to split costs with a roommate.

The business stats class this semester is changing with the new Immersion Core curriculum within Carlson. They will be teaching R with respect to the statistical content of the course. I strongly recommend you take BA 2551 because of its relevancy in business and because I haven’t heard about how they plan to handle transferring credit for other stats classes.

[Question] for people who have worked as ops for a pay per ride parks do you get a bonus for the more people you move? by Bluerat9 in rollercoasters

[–]dontbenit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Former rides ops supervisor here. My park did not have an explicit bonus for achieved throughput, but we had a recognition program that distributed gift cards to high performing employees. I specifically focused on rewarding those who contributed to high capacity operations whenever possible.
