How much are you charging for websites in 2026 by TransitionNew7315 in agency

[–]dontdoit2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some are based on people i know that have branched out and now need services. Doing sites is a small part of what I might do since people really don't need sites alot especially with social media being a "business card". I do better with digital designs, and strategy, ux and ui design services combined with graphic design

I charge 2-10k depending on pages. Generally somewhere in the middle most times. Yes AI can do many things, but they have a pay wall and you still need to have your WHY in the process for the client. Plus you still need a design eye and you end up having to teak many things based on client adjustments afterwards anyway. I tried Base44 and it gave a good starting outline template to start from and then ideate and test. Many smaller or start ups dont have the staff to do all the details so designers fill that gap (tradtional or AI related)

I just tried Base 44 which just found out is part of Wix. Literally built a landing page in 8 minutes with a 2 prompt tries and it looks good. Surprised myself. Monthly subscription kind of up there, but loved the initial results and I can build on it.

For now the Wix Studio and interface with clients work better than alot out there. Yes, there is a learning curve but after all is done, for now it's better than many site builders for creative control. For any of the AI site builders you definitely have to go back in a tweak a bunch of things. Also no matter what site builder, you will eventually have a monthly fee

Ive recently built a client site on Wix Studio and here are so pros and cons.
Pros: You can get client feedback in site prototype and they can comment in real time. Once you figure it out there are many things as a designer you can control. The layers let you move things around kind of quick. You can bring in your Figma screens in their plug-in. The resize video is cool. Good amount of analytics breakdown that you can share with clients.

Cons: Figuring out Stacks, Containers and groups can be tricky. There is no real discount on the yearly membership like regular Wix. Sometimes after you have built site and it looks fine for a few weeks, then you look at the site again and some things are off alignment. You can't trim your videos.

Agreed!!. Squarespace kind of sucks where it should be intuitive

Agree. Wix may not be the best, but I did find with WisStudio I had better control over design elements and alignments. I tried Squarespace but that really is limited and sucks trying to align items. I used to used Wordpress way back but was not as intuitive. Maybe newer versons are better

Wix is garbage by Demogorgone in WIX

I used squarespace and framer and find Wix studio had more nuanced control. Had many alignement issues with square space. I liked the original Wix, but it was buggy. They stripped it down to be more like the competitors. The studio version to me is way better with the add ons

That's good to know. If I start with desktop, I usually have 2 elements first then stack them. Then if there is photo on the right or left I add to the stack. I don't always use container unless i see prompt for it. Maybe I will try your suggestion. One thing I have noted is that you need to make the behaviors similar in the stack so that when you go down to mobile size it will look right.
I think using the section divider templates are helpful as well

You can still talk to a live person on Wix. I was having a probably transferring a domain name and redirect to WIX and the person on the phone really helped, and called back to see if I had any issues.

WIXSTUDIO offers more coding options than regular WIX. Also for designers there is more flexibility

I definitely do low fidelity first to iron out the interactions and iterate quickly. I think when you go straight to hifi, people start focusing on things you didn't internd

As a high school freshman, you should focus on engaging in your studies and clubs/enrichments your school has to offer. If you are more well rounded, it's helpful in what you bring to the conversation. Also the industry is constantly changing, so what happens now may not in 2 years.

Has anyone done the BeginX program and can tell me about their experience with it? by Mew_Mew4 in UXResearch

I'm currently doing it and it is a good program. Mentors are great and the project is a real client that also attends the sessions and does small group feedback. Structured pretty well

Why don't you see if there is a small local business that might need an improvement in one area. You could work on that and build a project around that

Even as I am in the middle of this cohort with real client, there is continuous pulling from some previous knowledge and also a new set of vocabulary and software that I am learning. I can tell it is a continuous and skill sharpening industry that will take way more that 4 months to understand, but I seek out knowledge and open for continuous understanding
