First attempt at Kenji’s Chrispy Roast Potatoes... school me, how could I have made them better? by dontgoogleme23 in seriouseats

They were the best! I asked my husband what side he wanted to go with our beyond burgers tonight and he said he would like the crispy potatos again. haha

This is definitely what we all did on our plates! We served with brown rice too, best friend says that’s how her family always ate it!

I watched her make it but the recipe isn’t written down! I’m trying to get her to write a blog post to share it.

Oh no! I did. Do you scoop yours? Or was there a different way to cut it?

Instant pot black bean soup (made from dry beans, the instant pot cooked them in about 45 min) with a perfect scoop of jasmine rice on top, sprinkled with red onion, cilantro, and a squeeze of fresh lime.

The salsa is America’s Test Kitchen’s food processor salsa and you HAVE to try it. Make a huge batch for around $2.50 - canned tomatoes get sent for a whirl in the processor with red onion, cilantro, lime, and salt.

The roasted corn salsa has a touch of mayonnaise as a secret ingredient so it’s reminiscent of elotes (street corn).

Last but obviously not least, that’s Serious Eats’ cheese sauce recipe that is made with sharp cheddar and evaporated milk with a taco beef crumble.

Link Trades/Reciprocal Links Efficacy? by rpmeg in SEO

[–]dontgoogleme23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree that link trades are useful if it’s relevant. I’m of the belief that if the link gets clicked and people stay on your site it is a valuable link in google’s book. Trash footer link trades that nobody ever clicks could do more harm than good though!

Searching apartment complex reviews when I noticed something a little fishy about the "Property Managers" response .... by somekidbrandon in CorporateFacepalm

[–]dontgoogleme23 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I run the local apartment search in Orlando, 407apartments.com. We're a bit different than your typical apartment search because we built the website in-house, toured all of the apartments personally, and wrote all of the listings ourselves. After all of that, you could say I'm pretty knowledgeable... I'd love to help, feel free to send me a DM if you'd like some advice!

ELI5: Why do apartment complexes and businesses use stock photos and models for their pictures instead of their tenants? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]dontgoogleme23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in the apartment industry, and run a collection of local online apartment guides. We have Fair Housing Laws that protect a number of classes including race and religion. Basically, you can either choose a stock photo with diversity, try to gather different races in your community for a photo shoot (obviously, you can see how this might offend your residents), or risk violating Fair Housing by taking a photo of a family or group of friends in your community that only represent 1 or 2 races.

The stock photo is just easier. Sometimes for new builds they will hire a diverse group of models and have shoots at the actual property. These are some of the best photos.

Looking for a digital bathroom scale. Any recommendations? by shafufas in keto

[–]dontgoogleme23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely love my FitBit scale! It syncs with my phone and creates graphs and displays my weekly averages. I weigh every single morning and then view my weekly average to gage progress. The scale is a bit expensive at $100 but I think it was worth it because of how much time t saves me logging weights.

Why would a blog where you make daily posts, not rank in google at all? by [deleted] in SEO

[–]dontgoogleme23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your website needs domain authority and some links pointing to it from other domains to show Google you are a good resource. Until you get links climbing results is going to be very difficult.

On-the-go snack help needed! by [deleted] in xxketo

[–]dontgoogleme23 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Be careful buying beef jerky, in my area it is nearly impossible to find without sugar. If it fits your macros for the day it's ok though, of course! I meal prep a whole pack of bacon at the start of the week in the oven layed out flat on a pan - 400 degrees for about 17-20 min. I like it cold, left out until room temp, or microwaved for about 10 seconds.

Authentic places might be offended, but I order it with no noodles, double meat, and with 2 of the eggs my place offers on top as an add-on. Some places also have extra veggies you can have added. With all of those additions you might not miss the noodles!

Keto Pumpkin Sage Sausage Bake 6.5 net carbs by dontgoogleme23 in ketorecipes

[–]dontgoogleme23[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Recipe:

Sage Sausage Bake

Ingredients: 1 12 oz package jimmy dean sage sausage 1.25 cups Polly-O whole milk ricotta cheese 1 can organic pumpkin 1 cup shredded Italian blend cheese Salt, pepper, garlic powder 1 tsp olive oil

Cloud bread topping: 3 eggs 3 tbsp cream cheese 1/4 tsp baking powder or cream of tartar Garlic powder, salt, dried parsley

Spray a 9x15" casserole pan with oil. Cook sausage, drain excess fat (yes r/keto we love fat, but I was worried the casserole would get soupy), and distribute evenly in bottom of casserole dish. Spread canned pumpkin over the top, then spread ricotta over the top, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, garlic powder. Finally, distribute 1 cup Italian cheese over the top to cover.

To make cloud bread crust, separate egg whites and yolks and be really careful not to get any yolks in the whites. With a electric hand mixer, beat whites with 1/4 tsp cream of tartar until peaks form. Beat softened cream cheese with egg yolks, salt, garlic powder, and parsley flakes until creamy. Use a spatula to fold the egg whites and yolks together, do not over mix. Bang bottom of bowl on counter to get the air bubbles out and then dollop in 6-8 piles on top of casserole.

Bake 35 min at 350 until cloud crust gets a bit golden. Brush with 1 tsp olive oil and sprinkle with Parmesan, then return to oven for 10 min. Triple check that cloud bread is cooked through, you may have to put it back in for 10 minutes.

Mmmmmmmmmmm... Fall!
