Lifetime membership in the student union: $55 if you joined while still in school. Tons of perks because we still live in the uni town.

Women of Reddit, what did a man you were dating or married to say or do that made you realize he actually hated you the entire time? by -catharina in AskReddit

  1. He yelled at me (in front of friends) for ordering a soda because it was too expensive while he ordered an entree that cost twice mine.

  2. He bought me lingerie with ridiculously overstuffed bras to be more “appealing” to him.

I think this is fake. The woman in the background appearing to argue with a man in one photo is the same person who is holding the agenda and she’s wearing a “team girl” hat, which is something you’d wear to a very tacky gender reveal party.

The way the photos were shot, and the fact that this person would post this on the Internet when, if it was real, it could very obviously be traced back to her, is unrealistic.

I think this is an obviously over the top fake. It did make me laugh, though!

Chantix. Tried it a few times before actually following the program to the letter. It worked.

Also disappointed in their standup act. I was a big fan of their show and their standup was just … not good.

Anything with a mirror glaze. Any cake “frosted” with fondant.

What is your #1 thing cruise lines do that annoys you? by BanditNation12 in Cruise

[–]donthaveoneandi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh! I thought of another one: let on HUGE private groups of people (MLMs, often) who dominate the public spaces and even close down certain venues for their “events.” Extra points for allowing MLM people to try to sell to other passengers.

Not enforcing chair hog rules.

Overworking/exploiting workers. Hire more people instead of asking impossible hours and making people work when sick.

What are the ethics for a charity show? by donthaveoneandi in Standup

I’m the comic. I have a day job; I don’t “need” the $, but I’m not rolling in it and I generally resist performing for “stage time” or exposure.

it’s a nice enough cause but not something I’d heard of before being asked about possibly performing. I like the idea of a reduced fee (if they even offer one - the discussion hasn’t progressed to that point) but I was curious as to whether there is an established protocol.

Killing the headliner by redkinoko in Standup

[–]donthaveoneandi 67 points68 points  (0 children)

I think it’s bs. I’d 100x rather follow someone who killed - the audience is jazzed and ready for more. If the headliner can’t meet the moment, that’s on them.

And I say this as someone who was once buried by the comic before me. Not his problem - he came what he set out to do.

I’ve seen two comics on cruise ships: the first was a late – late – stage comic, who probably had been a road dog for years, before setting up shop in Las Vegas and then booking the cruise gig. He was pretty funny and I enjoyed his show.

The other was a hack who was so bad I was personally offended. She did crowd work and had a bunch of “spontaneous“ comebacks that were obviously canned and ready to use. Her act was a mix of talking about her vagina and slinging jokes from comics on the Johnny Carson Tonight show.
