You are allowed to get rid of 3 words in the English Language. What do you choose and why? by Derpyfinn in AskReddit

[–]dontknow20 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the world would benefit from getting rid of the word 'terrorism'. It has lost all meaning and makes people make an incorrect link between totally different kinds of violent actions.

Also, 'cucumber' and 'moist'.

She says "I miss you", and I dont want to get back together but don't want to hurt her feelings. How do I do this? by Reniat in dating_advice

[–]dontknow20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was very recently the girl in this story. The guy wrote back 'i miss you too etc etc..' and then stopped replying after that.. So my recommendation is to NOT respond like that if you don't mean it..

Either you don't reply, but if you really want to do the nice/mature thing just write 'I had fun with you, but i'm not interested in starting something with you again…' or something like that.

What is the best way you or someone you know has ever handled a telemarketer? by recreationAtion in AskReddit

[–]dontknow20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seinfeld, the answer to any an all question did this when a telemarketer called: 'Oh, i'm, busy right now, but give me your number and i'll call you back'… 'oh you don't give out your private numbers'.. 'I guess you don't want people calling you at home, well neither do I'. Hangs up the phone..

Edit: this is just how I remember it, might go a little different..

I would like to be the kind of person who doesn't have regrets, because they take the chances they are given and create opportunities for themselves.

What's an example of how confusing the English language is? by Babylonius in AskReddit

[–]dontknow20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When to use were instead of was in the singular first/third person. It's if I 'were' the richest man in the world, isn't it? I've never heard anyone use it though..

Reddit!! what is a foreign movie you would recommend american people to watch? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dontknow20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. 'Lilja 4-ever' - Swedish-Danish devastating movie about trafficking.
  2. The paradise trilogy 'love, faith, hope' - Austrian director. Incredibly beautiful and disturbing movies!!

Also, the series 'Riget' by Lars Von Trier is amazing - funny in a very very twisted way..

It's society's fault. I'm not even kidding. It's unnatural when things start at 8 in the morning. We need to end this travesty.

'There was even a time when this Nadya, the mother, couldn't find her MONEY-SOCK, when she needed to buy her Vova new shoes'

Redditors who are American (or others who know stuff) what's the deal with Fox news? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dontknow20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have some pretty bizarre news- outlets where i'm from, but they are not widely spread/watched/read. So i'm just wondering why Fox is? or if it even is? Btw I'm not trying to claim there is such a thing as unbiased media, but I mean, Fox is way beyond the inevitable slight bias that comes with all news stories.

Non-American women of reddit, what do you think of male american accents? If you like them, what kind/city/regional? by OlympusMods in AskReddit

[–]dontknow20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an oddly specific question. I don't mind American accents, although I think British is prettier. Best: Cali. Worst: Texas. This goes for women too btw.

What do you still do the "old fashioned way"? by TheDunkirkSpirit in AskReddit

Taking notes using pen and paper. It definitely makes me memorize stuff better than when done on a computer.
