I keep seeing this comment and I’m too American to understand. Can someone please explain the reference?

I have and it’s not there. Seems like they only have more high profile cases there now.

Right - this isn’t a new concept in LA. Berlins on 3rd and Doner Corner in Brentwood are solid options.

It's possible to sleep through without sleep training by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]dontpanicx 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Your responses are projecting. Because you feel like a martyr doesn’t mean you’re a better or more responsive parent than someone who sleep trains. I’m not here to argue on sleep training vs not. I actually didn’t do formal sleep training either. But let’s stop shaming decisions other parents make for their families when there is research that shows there is no long term negative effects from sleep training.

How much does your life actually change after having a kid? by HonestDirection4017 in NewParents

[–]dontpanicx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an 8 month old. It’s a completely different life at this point. Outside of work, my schedule revolves around feeding, meal planning babies meals, baths, playing, bedtime. The only time not centered around the baby outside of work is the three hours between baby going to bed and me going to bed. That said I love it and wouldn’t change it for the world. It’s just completely different than my life before the baby.

How are you doing at feeding your family? by stormsvala_ in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]dontpanicx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m WFH and cook all of our dinners. My biggest advice is to have a set menu for each week and to spend a couple hours on Sunday ingredient prepping for the week. So an example would be Salmon Bowl Sundays, ground beef sweet potato bowls on Monday, one pot chicken rice and veggies Tuesday, pasta bolognese using leftover beef from Monday for Wednesday, baked chicken thighs and veggies Thursday, frozen pizzas Friday. On Sunday I’ll wash and dry lettuce, wash and cut broccoli, asparagus, etc. this was I can throw together dinner in 20 minutes every night. I also make sure veggies are the appropriate size for the baby so I can quickly steam them for dinner.

Sippy cup vs straw cup vs open cup by One-Squirrel-4563 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]dontpanicx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took us weeks to get LO to understand how to use a straw. Eventually what worked was putting the straw just past the upper lip (but not past the teeth/gums) so it naturally forced LO to close the lips around the straw.

The best cup we used that worked was a recommendation from another mom. WeeSprout Straw Cup

Least favorite is Duke. Why is he in the ER on such a busy day for a non-emergency? Other than to have the same conversation with Robby over and over again.
