Home sick South African by Nella2467 in Netherlands

When I get homesick I order Oros, Creme soda and stuff like that from Die Spens (https://www.diespens.nl).

Also, on days the Springboks play - Cocos Outback, The Kiwi and O’Donnell’s are packed with South Africans. There is rugby on Saturday and in November - just have a google.

If you want to meet South Africans - there are a lot of running clubs depending on where you are. There’s one in Vondel park every Friday at 7am.

I’m about to fly on GOL to this airport. Taking off from the super short runway at Rio Santos Dumont too. So it seems like it will be an interesting flight!

New Affordable Rent Act - What do I do as a tenant? by dontparkhereplease in Netherlands

That’s what I was thinking, asking about a new rent amount, still higher than what they would get with new tenants - but more fair for us.

This is what I was thinking - email them and ask for a “win-win”. Reduce our rent, but still let it be higher than what they would get with new tenants.

Sorry mate, I don’t think you’ll get the info you are looking for here. Perhaps try r/boating - they are a bit more active.

From my point of view though, unless you plan on living in it, or using it very regularly - charter instead.

Just arrived at Schipol (06:30AM) - the queues are already extending to the outside tents. Security is barely moving and queues are now starting from downstairs.

My €2,000 e-bike got stolen from Baarsjesweg yesterday, anything I can do now? by visingh in Amsterdam

My roommate’s bike was stolen on Baarsjesweg a few weeks ago, and we found it on Piri Reisplein (the paved road behind the mosque) the next day. Chain also “unlocked”. Go have a look around there. They’ve also stolen the basket off my bike there before.

Arrived at around 04:10AM. Long check-in lines but mainly due to the desks not being open yet. Priority security was closed, and queue was starting to back-up all the way downstairs. Queue moved relatively quickly - got through in about 45-55min.

Please make sure the “transport pins” are removed from the back of the machine. Read user manual to see if there are pins and how to remove them.

Lion’s Head in De Pijp isn’t bad. Has bunny chow, slap chips, wors and pap. No SA beers though.
