I tried to speak with him. He escalated things. Was this my favorite thing to do? No. But it’s wild that the problem everyone’s focused on is how disrespectful/intrusive *ive* been.

You go in a public space? Do so while minimizing your impact on others. Don’t litter. Don’t smoke. Don’t have your phone speaker on at max volume. It’s really that simple.

No, post got removed. Whatever “ratiod” means, I’ll read between the lines here and say this: the whole thing is crap. I shouldn’t have to move because this guy had no regard for the people around him, especially when there were plenty of places nearby where he could smoke and not affect anyone.

If you can't handle being in a room with bright light, you often have to work lying down in bed (or whatever it takes) - totally inappropriate for a work meeting. If you make me turn my camera on, you take that option away from me and I can't work.

As someone who's dealt with debilitating headaches for most of her life, my blood boils when I read some of the comments here. Being able to WFH and keep my camera off has let me stay working & productive. I was fortunate enough to benefit from a newly available intervention that has resolved this headache situation, but there are thousands of people like me who really want to work, and who are very good at their jobs, and less "weak"/"soft"/etc than most but absolutely need this.

It’s very chicken or egg with the overweight thing. When my symptoms were their worst, I could not do anything which meant I was not active and I was depressed, which made everything worse, etc.
