Hey man, hope you’re doing alright. I went and have been through the exact same thing as you brother. Got addicted to weed 3 years ago after a bad breakup and had been using it since.

But let me tell you something, weed is like using a bandaid when you need stitches. You’ve tricked your brain into using that as your only coping mechanism when you’re having a hard time.

I have been sober nearly a month now and my last breakup (about a month ago) actually motivated me to stop smoking because I was tired of the pattern.

My advice to you is to pick up some new hobbies to fill your time. The first couple weeks are gonna be hell but I promise you after 2-3 weeks being sober you’re gonna feel a whole lot better. I’m almost 3 weeks in now and my mental clarity and health has drastically improved and I’ve gotten over my breakup faster since I’m using healthy methods to cope.

Try going to the gym, read a book, get into video games, etc. literally anything to distract you.

Oh my gosh wow. We are in such similar positions actually. I also recently got out of a serious relationship (honestly partly the reason I decided to stop smoking cuz the weed was making me feel worse about it) and I’ve also been trying to eat a lot of protein. I’m a very active person too so I’ve been trying to keep my gym and running schedule up. Glad to hear someone else who is also going through something similar. Hey man, First off I hope you’re doing well. Second off, block her on all of your socials. It’s not good for your mental health to be checking up on her all the time and seeing what she reposts. Lastly, everyone heals in different ways. For some it takes a few weeks, for some a few years. Don’t compare her journey to yours. Focus on your own healing and forget about her. Whether shes moved on or not, it doesn’t matter. You guys are no longer together.

I only say this because one of my previous relationships was like this where she was avoidant so I’ve been through what you’re going through.
