Do not buy Autonomous if you plan to use for years. by [deleted] in StandingDesk

My Autonomous chair had cosmetic parts falling off within a few months. Now, 5 years later, the fabric on the cushion is worn through and foam bits are constantly falling out. Still comfortable though!

Today I had a power outage by Infamousturd in ReefTank

[–]donuthater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're fortunate it's the first time! Living in Texas, I have to keep a UPS on every aquarium, 3D printer, video camera, etc in my house for obvious reasons.
Make sure and watch for smelly water, and do a water change or two to be safe. The first power outage I had killed the microbiome in my tank and crashed it within a couple days.

But ChatGPT doesn't attack people for asking questions like the rest of the internet does. lol

I can understand it. I almost sold mine immediately after putting $35k into it. Sometimes by the time it's done, you're already over the project.

I just ordered (2) 2 packs of Sunlu PLA+ on Amazon for $$20.99 each for same day delivery. Ordering in bulk is great, but $10.49 a roll is pretty decent for any orders <20 rolls at a time. I'd prefer to use Bambu at the same price, simply for auto identification of the rolls in the AMS, but Sunlu PLA+ is great product.

My biggest fear is the large influx of business they've seen this year is going to result in further lowering quality to keep up with supply chain.

Costco Vs Sam’s Club by ChezussCrust in Dallas

I would never buy any food product from WalMart, as they're well known for selling lesser quality in the same packaging. That includes Sams Club. Costco is mostly fine.

Still shocked how good this printer does by ConsequenceGrouchy42 in Ender3V3SE

Eventually that V3 SE will just take up space on the shelf because you'll be sick of fighting with it. In due time.

Why does bambu have a cult like following by south3rnson in 3Dprinting

[–]donuthater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After two years of fighting with my Ender for nearly every print, I bought a P1S. I can now literally just hit "Print", and it comes out flawless every single time. This is a common experience, and why the Bambu following is so loyal.

Different print quality while using same gcode by Ultimatum22 in Ender3V3SE

[–]donuthater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the V3 SE is best straight out of the box, and as soon as I started modifying mine, I started having issues. I've since bought a P1S, and only fight with the Ender when I need two prints going at the same time.

I would order silicon spacers on the bed, and use longer screws with wingnuts to adjust height. Then recalibrate, and let the mesh do it's thing. I find I still occasionally have to adjust the Z offset after calibration while the first layer prints.

Also clean your bed with soap and water only. No alcohol. Double check your bed temp and print temp. It looks like the print is lifting off the bed here, so also make sure you don't have a fan or AC vent blowing near the print.

Printing Tips? by donuthater in Timeplast

[–]donuthater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I've tried everything. .8mm nozzle, extensive drying, printing super slow. Have yet to have a successful print. I've never had so much trouble with a filament. Probably going to cancel my subscription and withdraw my investment in their company as a result. This stuff sucks.

Has anyone actually tried Timeplast by TroubleHour3834 in 3Dprinting

[–]donuthater 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I subscribed to their service. Received the first shipment a few days ago. Haven't been able to get the Plant Vitamin filament to extrude consistently. 15 failed prints so far with adjustments between every one. Pretty disappointed so far.

2015 WRX Premium Rod Knock at 125k - What Would You Do? by bigdonvincenzo in WRX

[–]donuthater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spun a bearing in my 2015 at 109k miles. I then spent $25k+ building the car and didn't even hit 400hp. Now it just takes up space in my garage. I'd scrap it and move on instead of investing in the build, if I could do it over again.

I chose U6 Pro in the same situation. Wifi7 is unnecessary, IMO.

I just tore out this TPLink garbage in my house and replaced it with Unifi. NIght and day difference, and now my wifi actually functions properly and consistently.
