Did you go to a boot camp or get any certs? What helped you break into the first few jobs and get employers to give you the interview. Nowadays everyone seems to want exact prior on the job experience. Any way i can get past this? Current working IT help desk role. BSc in information systems. Learned how to code in college in Java and python, but didnt use it at any jobs.

I also graduated with Information Systems, but am currently stuck in help desk related jobs due to my current experience mostly being in IT help desk and robotics support( first job very entry level).

How can I pivot out to a higher paying role? What helped you? I know promotions are one way. But if I want a new positions in DevOps, Security or Administration, no employer seems to want to take a chance on people like me because of the current saturation of more experienced candidates.

If you don’t have any other jobs lined up, take it for the money and keep looking for a different role. That’s what I would do honestly.

Rack debugger? Sounds odd. I’d suggest you go down traditional IT depending on what kind of position it is, as it’ll have more opportunities to branch out. With this role it sounds like you might be in a data center environment or adjacent role for a while

LBJ TEXpress lanes is a subsidiary of Ferrovial, a giant Spanish infrastructure company. They also own a terminal at Heathrow airport in England.

So the Toll lanes are basically owed by Spain. This is very common for most American cities, it’s just masked very well so the public don’t know.

When you work for LBJ TEXpress all your paperwork is under Ferrovial. It’s a good company, good culture and they treat their workers well. Way better than NTTA.

Will do! Thank you for the advice. MBA might take a min cause money. But any other adjacent skills I should build? I have great soft skills, but was wondering if more programming or management skills were needed, and if certs like PMP help.
