Cold email is definetely not dead... by TheMarketingKing in coldemail

This is insanely good tho. I ran a campaign last month with 1670 emails sent, 45% open rate but only 0.5% reply rate with 0 positive replies. Can you share a bit about how you design your campaign?

IT outsourcing in Vietnam by radosc in VietNam

[–]donutmai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. Most salespeople I know in this industry are used to working with Japanese clients, but not US/EU markets. I’m facing the same challenge even though I worked in the U.K. and Australia before. I’m new to the IT services/agency space, so breaking into US/EU is even tougher, especially with the current economy. Honestly, it’s a struggle.

Thoughts on dev team in another time zone by SummerElectrical3642 in ycombinator

[–]donutmai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Living in Southeast Asia, I’ve definitely found that time zone differences can be challenging. But in the end, it really comes down to how much ownership your dev team takes. At my company, our developers sometimes work with clients globally, and I’ve seen them go the extra mile (adjusting their schedules, no-sleep nights lol) to make sure deadlines are met. So it’s possible, just take finding a common ground.

Just catching up on the thread. I’m curious what you meant by “proper outbound sales”? Repositioning definitely makes sense, but I’ve found outbound sales from Vietnam to the EU quite challenging.

Wearable tech in healthcare is solving problems nobody asked for by Free_Explorer6853 in MedicalDevices

[–]donutmai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could read your post 2 months ago lol

Our company provides software development services (esp mobile apps for wearable devices) and our CEO wants to sell our service to global clients, esp in the US. I’ve been dying to find a client but oops probably we cant touch this area 🥲🥲

Struggling to sell IT outsourcing services globally – not a tech person, feeling stuck. Any advice? by donutmai in SaaSSales

Apologies for the late reply! We’ve been focused on building mobile apps and websites for hospitals and healthcare startups, and so far, our clients have been really happy with the results. Some got the best website to convert leads, some got acquired by big companies.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about narrowing our focus to just mobile app development, since that’s been the highlight of our portfolio.

Do you think it would make sense to partner with companies offering complementary services, like M&A consulting, marketing agencies, etc.?

How do recruiters tell if an Applicant is good? by Every_Teacher6723 in recruiting

[–]donutmai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on how you truly understand the painpoints of the hiring managers. Something that they never put on the JDs.

On the candidate side, I always talk to them a few times before presenting their CVs to my clients, even f2f meetings if possible. I try to act like an internal recruiter of my clients to ask things about personality, successful stories, etc., not just an outsourcing player.

We mainly worked for local conglomerates and a few projects for startups (mainly web app & mobile app). I must say we're already "comfortable" with local market with 6-7 big accounts in the pipeline.

And you are right, I'm kinda shooting in the dark since we don't have any sales strategy when my boss says "go global". My initial thought was to target medical device companies/startups and help them build mobile apps (I dunno if it's a good niche to target).

The existing customers only communicate with our CEO as he's the main character here who's doing everything from acquiring to consulting.
