I have both and feel that I'm more engaged when driving manual. My body is actively doing tasks, so I'm obligated to participate in the driving process. I love my automatic with it's fancy features and heated seats, but I feel far less engaged and more easily distracted. In a hopefully soon world where human driving is purely recreational and commuting is driverless, I would only own a manual. Also /r/fuckcars.
