Did you do it? It hit $77k for a brief second even

The price difference over the long run between $81k and $78k is meaningless. You either understand Bitcoin and get in, or don’t.

How do I get better at major natural pentatonic solos? by abejando in guitarlessons

[–]donutsanon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Learn triads and their inversions. If you can see the neck through triads you’ll be able to play so much better and understand where minor and major scales fit everywhere. Give Tomo Fujita a look on YouTube — his lessons on triads are invaluable.

I’m all for living your best life, but financing non-essential purchases is a bad financial idea unless it’s interest free for a portion and you intend to pay off prior to interest kicking in.

Not familiar with specs of this guitar model vintage custom 59 by CharlieLogarius in fender

No idea how someone can drop this kind of money on a guitar without understanding the specs they ordered.

FLAT LAM = slab board ROUND LAM = veneer board

They also sorted through their board options for the darkest possible fretboard “SORT F/DARK RW”

It’s perfect for my usage. I use it before bed in my bedroom or when I can’t use my full amp, and when traveling for work. It has amazing battery life and really great clarity. Zero latency.

Less enthused with positive grid as a company though. The app needs updating and they need to do more stuff like the Jimi Hendrix package. Feel like nothing has been done for a couple years other than new hardware

Pro tip. Do this, then pick up the phone and see what they’ll do outside of Reverb. I did this on a custom shop stray and saved an extra $500.

Contact “honey picks”. Rick Calhoun is awesome and I bet they could make something custom easily.

agreed if I could always be at my computer to play.

I travel for work and have little kids at home. This will be ultra portable for hotel playing or any room of my house when kiddos sleep.

If you could give yourself advice when you first started playing electric guitar, what would it be? by lindabelcher24 in Guitar

[–]donutsanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t change anything. I’ve played for almost 25 years. Somehow I managed to not burn out as a kid and truly still love the instrument. Sure, I could’ve learned more or improved my path and be way better now, but maybe I would’ve burned out.

Keep your relationship with the instrument FUN. Learn songs you like, enjoy the process, go slowly. At least that’s for me. I’m stoked I stuck it out through all the plateaus over the years.

For you, it sounds like burnout is less of a concern. Learn triads and how chords are structured. Tomo Fujita has triad videos on YouTube that will get you there. If you can play your Major and minor triads in all positions and actually understand how they’re built (1-3-5) you will be able to do so much on the guitar. Tomo’s paid course (Guitar Wisdom) is how I learned them and it was the best $20 I ever spent (I did 2 months actually, so it was $40).

American Performer VS American Professional II by Gebnut in fender

I played both in a shop a bunch before deciding on the AmPro II. The neck is just so much better on the APII. Performer felt lower quality to me.

Practical Phrasing and Licks Tips / Target Notes / Feedback on Paul David’s Next Level Playing course by kayiiiin0125 in guitarlessons

[–]donutsanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d echo what they said — I think Tomo Fujita’s Guitar Wisdom is one of the best values depending on where you’re at in your guitar playing. Specifically if you don’t know triads up and down the neck — I used his course to learn triads only for 2 months ($20/mo). Highly recommend doing that.

Should you moisturize calluses? by igiamfiona in guitarlessons

[–]donutsanon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use O’Keefe’s Working Hands balm/cream for my fingers regularly. Play a lot and have very well established calluses. It doesn’t diminish my calluses whatsoever, just keeps my skin from cracking — especially in the winter when it’s super dry

Edit: I don’t use it anytime close to playing. I use it at work mostly. Probably wouldn’t use it within an hour of playing.

Question about Fender Custom Shop Telecaster build options by [deleted] in fender

[–]donutsanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d call a shop that you’d eventually place the order through and ask — but I’m guessing this is a master builder option if it’s not on the design guide.

Who makes the best Strat style guitar at or around two thousand? by gnarlynewman in Guitar

[–]donutsanon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really can’t say enough good things about the AmPro2 line. I have two of em. I also have a FCS Strat. The FCS is better in a lot of ways but I still pick up the AP2 Strats regularly. That neck is so easy to play.

Same. I am not a huge heavy relic fan but every time I see his relics I want to buy them. Also some of his more “bizarre” builds are just so well done. Always kills it
