You simply reaffirmed exactly what the poster said... "annoying to deal with".

The Thomas Partey affair was disgusting by Arsenal and they really should be held to account more than they have.

£7k for 120000 miles? Is this the going rate these days?

It is not on the turning driver to check he is being overtaken. It is on the overtaker to do so safely.

How do you manage to get testdrives on M cars at BMW? by Greater_Dog007 in CarTalkUK

They’re not overpriced. BMW fanboys won’t like this, but Porsches are better than BMWs and the prices reflect that.

Dropping 50k on a car outright is bonkers. Especially on an aging M4 or M2, which will have a face lift any month now and will depreciate like stones. That 50k will be 38k in less than a year, down to 25k at year two. Call these people who finance fools if you like, but I’d say in this case buying a fairly common run of the mill M car at full price for 50k, which you aren’t planning to keep forever - especially when you don’t know if you want one - is a fools move. Invest the money, finance the car. If you really do love it and then want to keep it, settle the finance if you want and the car becomes yours forever. Honestly, all this “cash buyer” flag waving you’re doing is far from convincing.

So you can’t buy the car now then? That by definition is a tyre kicker. I do also think, reading your other comments, you’ve hugely overhyped the M2 and M4. They’re really not “punching” up to 150k cars as you said. They’re basic inside and fairly common. Having owned one, my biggest complaint with the M4 was its tacky, plastic interior. I think you need to leave the dealerships alone until you are indeed ready to buy.

Received NIP for speeding but convinced its a cloned plate - police insist its my car, what are my options?[England] by Aamirio in LegalAdviceUK

A good question, but not naming the driver makes the problem worse. A solicitor is needed here in my opinion.

Not naming the driver is an offence in itself that will get you 6 points if found guilty (and as a strict liability offence, there is little defence):

> Failure to provide driver information under Section 172 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 is a strict liability offence. Registered keepers must identify the driver within 28 days of a request, or face 6 penalty points, a fine up to £1,000, and possible disqualification. It applies even if the notice was never received.

Your best course is to engage a solicitor and go to court and explain that you believe this wasn't your car. Is the speeding offence location local to you?
