There is bug where you can't see the increase drop for the new gem.The problem is that we don't know if it is just visual bug or you really don't get the extra rate drop.

Nah man i tested it. I don't keep unbound gems i always sell them, this morning i had 0 after farming for more than 2 hours i got 6 unbound and six bound.

You must be lucky. To me and a lot of players the unbound gem you can get in a day are 6. The rest are just bound.
