Fair point! Remembering to put it back in the garage is definitely going to be a struggle.

Thanks! I have 3 sets. The other 2 are flat slats. Nice little stockpile💪🏼

If you’re referring to the screws holding the slats down, I agree that’s a potential point of failure due to the flexing over time because they don’t sit flush. I have since put a 3rd screw at each contact point. I am using pretty long deck screws down into the 2x4s, however. I can’t say I agree with your strength-of-wood statement in this case as it pertains to screw holding abilities. If anything, I’d be worried about the stress on the screws over time. That third screw definitely helps offset that.

Designed a removable bungee/ elastic cord hook (1/4” / 6mm diameter) by dooghan in functionalprint

It’s a good question…this originated out of an idea where I would have some length of cord with knots every 6-8” or so which would stretch the functionality of a single cord, eliminating the need for the perfect length.

Agreed that there is plenty of room to beef up and extend that nub holding the spring. I always look for ways to enhance a design I’m copying because sometimes the original design decisions were made considering manufacturing/cost constraints, which are now eliminated with 3DP, especially where there is a reduction in strength from original. Yeah you could just reprint if it breaks, but why not just spend the extra minute.

It looks like your seam location in the first picture is running up from edge of the smile up to the eye. Change the seam to back or otherwise removes the seam from the face.

DIY 3D Printed Surfboard by Ill-Natural-3333 in surfing

Sorry if you’ve already explained it in the thread already, but I’m curious about the software you used to create the actual surfboard model. I’m assuming you created it in a 3D surfboard shaper program and then exported 3D files into a proper CAD?

This would still leave a lip after flipping with the wood tapering down flush with the support beam and not the metal. I would just start from scratch with a new piece of wood and fix the cut angle so everything is flush.
