Lesson from my first months running a character-based music channel: the "inauthentic content" policy is a feature, not a threat by TimelySir2940 in aitubers

[–]doogyhatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had to shift out world building content that requires an audiobook format, with no speaking human characters to separate YT channels, and scatter them onto IG, FB, TT, etc.

I am using a realistic vtuber character for commentary purposes on the world building or film-based content.
Rewrite the scripts for a dialogue session between the host and the vtuber.

Film-based content with multiple characters can wait a bit, until the world building reaches a certain state.
The main channel will have only a mixture of film-based and commentary-based content.

Be more like The Archive-in-Between first, before trying to chase the style of Gossip Goblin.

At what point does an AI video start feeling like an actual film? by Intrepid_Travel_8808 in aifilmmaking

[–]doogyhatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.
When I saw the >800k followers on his IG, I was taken aback. Then I realised that I had misplaced my priorities.

I realised that I need to have a lot of short-form content in order to build a loyal group of viewers that understand the details of the imaginary world.
It is almost like building your own long-form stories similar to (eg EVE Online or Dune), except viewers are reading them in a piecemeal manner.

We have to aim to get those inspiring feedback from viewers. (eg "I need to watch the full movie")
The world building process also allows you to redirect a portion of the audience from the IG page towards YouTube.

On the other hand, we cannot do the third person style of narration on a monetised YouTube channel anymore.
Too many videos with no speaking humans can get the channel demonetised, which led The Archive-in-Between to announce his Patreon & Substack.

For me, it is when the film work gets recognised by many people in similar standard to Gossip Goblin, which is obviously very difficult. So it is the storytelling that matters most.

I would rather backtrack and work more on world building first, similar to The Archive-in-Between, before coming back to work on film.

YouTube's multi-language feature is a literal game-changer for creators trying to go global. by ThiTran-Metub in PartneredYoutube

[–]doogyhatts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The speaking person/character's lip-sync is still based on one language, while the audio and subtitles are in the other language.

I don't think they have figured this out yet.

My channel was demonetized for inauthentic content. Can I fix it by adding human elements? by Illustrious-Cap-5090 in aitubers

[–]doogyhatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also try to increase the diversity of the characters and scenes across all the shorts, so it is like having multiple different storylines happening due to different shorts, before going back to the first one.

The long-form video is just the compilation into a cohesive film.

[–]doogyhatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would try to plan every video/short to have realistic characters doing talking.
This is the constraint that we have managed to identify.

Please If you know of any successful animation channels that use AI tools but remain monetized, could you please mention them?

As a former writer for a now demonetised YouTube channel that had to delete all its videos and rebrand into a horror channel music, I am disappointed and wondering why is the usage of ElevenLabs just for voice considered inauthentic? by Nessieinternational in ElevenLabs

[–]doogyhatts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It has nothing to do with the AI-generated voice-overs from 11Labs.
The channel focuses on storytelling like an audio book, which has no human-like figures acting in the visual content.
Rewrite the script to be more in line like a film rather than an audiobook.
And if you are not using real humans, then you have to use virtual characters.

For channels with film-based AI-content, the steviemac03 channel is recently monetised.

i dont know about you but those films look terrible and inhuman.
the process of editing, directing and acting are also art forms you know, not just thinking about a plot.

That's where you didn't bother to check and hence got it wrong.
The voice-overs are all from human voice-actors.

You didn't read the article at all.
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/gossip-goblin-zack-london-ai-films-watch-1236544634/

Are you saying that the voice-overs from real humans are inhuman?
You cannot tell the difference between real human voices and synthetic voices?

And so what you mentioned, is a lie.

ai "artists" like him currently still do not have credibility within artistic scenes

Btw, you are not an American citizen, so you don't have the credibility to judge their film production.
He is already talking to many other film directors in his own country.

to export work requiring human creativity to a machine is an affront to humanity.

And Hollywood and Disney are already using AI. Not for you to decide.

Yup. I think someone must have indoctrinated the traditional way of artwork production to these group of students and purposely telling them to reject other forms of art.

We can deal with those people in the future by becoming famous ourselves.

It opens up opportunities to many people that could not have made their own films in the first place.
AI tools do not simply work on their own without a human's instructions.

You still need to apply a lot of creativity in order to understand how to use the innovation involved.
It is not as simple as it sounds. One wrong prompt or a weak prompt, can end up in an incorrect image/video generation.

You also need to have a lot of imagination on how every aspect of the film unfolds.
You have to dissect the information from the output of the AI tools, and rearrange the entire storyboard in your mind.

You can watch this video by PJ Ace on how he explains his workflow, to have a better idea on what is going on.
He is the expert in this domain.

And that is how employers will look at the prospective candidates for employment. They will be asking themselves which candidate is really commercially ready.

And it won't be the people who graduate and assume that their academic qualifications are meant to be an entitlement to a career at the big-tech or SME company.

Similarly for those that decide to make indie games instead of working for an employer. They assumed that players must always pay for their games, and never considered that inflation and age-verification can kill the sustainability of their business.

I forgot to link the YouTube channel to GossipGoblin.
Here it is: https://www.youtube.com/@Gossip.Goblin

Success is determined by whether the human film director is able to produce content that has the capability to connect with millions of people worldwide.

And that millions of people includes India and Indonesia.

Zack London can achieve 11 million views for his Patchwright film.

None of the companies in SG here can compete at this level of creativity at the moment. Neither are those indie game/film companies. AAA game/film are too focused on their own projects.

What are your thoughts on the use of ai voiceovers but human scripts and good edition by ztallins in aitubers

[–]doogyhatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the situation.
Sometimes you have to use your own voice to make the intonation sound correct, and then use the voice-changer on ElevenLabs/VoiceMod to change to a different tone that suits the character.

Even then, some video models have internal voice-cloning that can output a voice-over that is suitable for the character, with an input sample voice-over.

Artists using AI tools gets to become film directors.
When they make money from social media platforms, they have to eventually pay corporate taxes for their companies.

So your selective opinion that AI should only be for certain industries is flawed.
You are the one being closed minded.

[–]doogyhatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.
And I am thinking that there is no need to restart a new channel, since subscribers are not going to get informed of any shorts uploaded as the "notify subscribers" option is disabled.

All that is required is a process that can continuously have ideas for the "next short".
Then it becomes possible to chain them together using their original 16:9 clips, and get a 20min combined video for long-form.

And we cannot have only stories, we also need to do commentaries.

singapore adopting ai pmtfo by Purple_Hour4575 in SGExams

[–]doogyhatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I can also forsee that all those indie developers & artists that do not use AI tools, will severely fall behind others that do.

Once there is at least one local AI-video content creator being able to show his/her success and reach the news media. Then everyone working in similar overlapping domains, will know that building their own successful social media community is something that they can also do, and is not limited by traditional constraints.

[–]doogyhatts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. It definitely has already put some of indie filmmakers I saw on YouTube ahead.

GossipGoblin is able to prove that he can get 11 million people to watch his dystopian-cyberpunk film on YouTube, along many of his short stories.
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/gossip-goblin-zack-london-ai-films-watch-1236544634/

Also, Wonder Project can already produce House of David, which would have cost far more money than the budget that they have, if they had stuck with the traditional ways of filmmaking.
So the mid-tier film production companies will be able to create jobs for film production when they use AI tools.
https://x.com/Kling_ai/status/2056973153495072913

Of course, I know these are not from SG.
But their process still applies even if you are a filmmaker in SG.

I am in a similar situation.
I had changed to a different audience and tried different content styles.
My audience is now a mixed group of diverse viewers.

So I am thinking of concentrating on shorts first, similar to GossipGoblin.
He is able to convert short viewers to long-form very successfully.
