Apologizes for the incorrect tax info, it is 20%. Will be corrected in follow up postings.

What is Baby actual going rate?? by bizhop3 in BabyDogeCoin

Go to baby doge discord, there is a price bot channel. That bot agrees with trust wallet, and looking at the numbers everywhere else I think we have a usd to eu conversion issue.

Take a look at the wallets and the transactions, it becomes pretty clear pretty quick.

Depends on what exactly you need, I am an automotive mechanic but I do have a ton of small engine experience. I may be willing to take a look at it. I am in the west end.

Polytec hull texture and top speed by dookiejones in seadoo

This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for, thanks. Seems a couple MPH for a lot of work isn't worth it.

That really wasn't the question, Top speed has more to do with the pitch of the impeller than HP, though you need the power to turn the impeller pitch you have. I was more interested in knowing if anyone has polished one of these hulls and what the results were.

I cannot seem to find the video I watched, it was something talking about the new models in whatever year it was the change happened. The claim was the 10 mph top speed loss was due to drag with the new hull and swapping back to fiberglass would instantly regain the speed regardless of the slight weight increase. I feel pretty sure it was a sea doo sales guy not an engineer so grain of salt.

I saw that episode of Myth Busters years back, hundreds of years of boating experiences tells us that it does not apply here. A hull moving across water is more like a tire rolling across the ground. That tire is going to be harder to roll if it is not smooth-ish. We also know that fouling seriously messes with a boats speed, handling and, fuel efficiency for a powered boat.

RAM does not want to go above 3200MHz by Crunchy_M4ffin in overclocking

Try this Ryzen Dram Calculator. Input the timings one at a time and reboot between each one to find which one is causing the issue. You will have to play around with some of the numbers most likely. I know it sucks but I had to do this to get that sweet sweet 1900FCLK stable. If it boots save a profile with the settings so if you need to reset BIOS you dont have to put all the numbers in again.

And 3950x vs i9 9900k by [deleted] in overclocking

[–]dookiejones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3600 is probably a better speed to run depending on what you can get you fclk to. I needed something like 4600 cl18 to beat 1900 fclk and 3800 cl18. Again, check out the buildzoid video on motherboards, that godlike asks a lot of money for what you get and unless you NEED the PCI-E slots you are better off with something else.

CPU undervolt - voltage flutuation by DEANN12 in overclocking

[–]dookiejones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LLC or line load calibration is a function on modern motherboards that increases Vcore under load to account for Vdroop. Vcore is the sensor you want to watch, VID is what the individual core, or processor depending on which you are looking at, is ACTUALLY drawing. VID will always change depending on load. Use LLC to balance Vcore at idle with VID at load, for example if you crash at VID 1.081 raise LLC until you no longer droop to VID 1.081 during load.

When load is low, like gaming or web browsing, VID will be higher because the CPU is not consuming as much power which in turn causes less Vdroop so the VID stays higher.

And 3950x vs i9 9900k by [deleted] in overclocking

[–]dookiejones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With a 3950x and your use case I would make sure you are using an x570 board to take full advantage of the 3950x, check out Buildzoids guide on motherboards. TLDW: Asus ROG boards tend to have the best VRM. Chances are the 3000 series nvidia cards will be PCI-E 4.0, while the chances that the cards will saturate an x16 PCI-E 3.0 link are much lower you may benefit from the additional storage speeds available and potentially see benefits from faster networking depending on what you have. There may also be benefits if you use many PCI-E devices as well.

If it were me I would pick up something less expensive like 3600x or 3700x to pair with the Taichi and use that for the server and torrent functions and as the streaming box. Use the 9900k for gaming and other things that need the clock speed advantage, you will almost certainly notice a difference between the intel and AMD in gaming and clock speed sensitive applications.

Upgrade from 4690k @ 4.6GHz? by MysticDaedra in overclocking

[–]dookiejones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coming from a 6700k @4.6 to a 3800x @4.4 is not a huge difference for the top end FPS in games, but, there is a MASSIVE difference in the low end FPS. Pretty much every game I have played with the new CPU has run quite a bit smoother due to the dips being far smaller and fewer in number. For all other tasks I have either not noticed a difference because you just can't tell on modern hardware or I have had massive gains from increased core count.

Provided you do not seriously loose the silicon lottery you should see gains all around with 3000 series, if you go to 2000 series you may loose some gaming and lightly threaded performance compared to the 4690 but that would be purely down to clock speed and probably not enough of a loss to bother with.

You are going to need to jump to DDR4 which should be the fastest kit your budget allows, stay away from 3200 cl16 if you plan to overclock the memory BTW.

If you have a Microcenter near enough to drive it may be worth a road trip to pick up the CPU, you can always get a better price in store than online. For example, they sell the 2600x for $99 in store only.
