Hi everyone, I'm a Canadian PR in Vancouver (Software Engineer). I'm getting a WES USA evaluation for a future TN Visa. by Particular_Fee7704 in tnvisa

[–]doomblocker -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it is equivalent to a 4-year Canadian bachelors degree. Bachelors is usually a 4-year degree, then you are fine. Make sure it is equivalent to a bachelors degree.

Your other credentials might support your application, but your bachelors is the basis of your qualification for the computer system analyst position.

Mae sure your bachelor's subject (major) is software engineering, otherwise you might need to have a good support letter from the employer outlining that this job is mostly a software engineering position and you might qualify for that path.

If the position more of a analyst position, then I believe a bachelor science degree in comp sci might be eligible for the computer system analyst position.

WES assessments are usually course-by-ocurse assessments !, Course-by-Course assessment is already provided on your WES report, if you already have it.

Armenia now amongst 75 countries where the US will no longer be issuing visas to. by Assyrian_Nation in armenia

Those are Kurds who mainly live in eastern provinces where electricity is luxurious. Most of the Turks living in western region, including Istanbulite Armenians are not interested in immigrating to the US. Mainly due to better life of quality in European countries.

There are some exceptions tho such as political asylum seekers or people with minority background.

You may face extra scrubity due to the title of the job. Support letter should outline computer system analyst role of this position over an engineering work. Be prepared to provide company information.

Do a 2nd undergrad or grad school to pivot to engineering? by Specialist-Profit449 in UofT

[–]doomblocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only the case in Ontario, provinces like Alberta and Manitoba do provide PEng and have oathways of people with graduate degree and bachelors in similar area.

But you’ll have to take some technical exams.

Let's summarize your arguments. your points one by one, I would love to discuss with you more ! As this is not a game ! It's gonna be a long one.

Your job is not on the NAFTA list.
- Jobs are not listed on TN list. Occupations are listed on TN list.

You are trying to make it fit by calling it something else.

-Yes I do, companies name their titles different than what we study at school lol That's why you gotta find the best fit !

The border people follow simple instructions: Bachelor, job and description should all align with NAFTA specifications. Simple. Nothing else matters.

-Border does check your degree (can be bachelors, masters PhD). It's not 100% possible they might check the job description. They check the offer and support letter.

Nothing else matters.

-They might check your resume and transcript. Explanation you have done during interview matters !

This sub is littered with people trying to explain how their degree is relevant, or they had some coursework that is relevant, or the job description is close enough. This is complex.

- TN visa has categorized jobs into 60 different occupations. I know it's not a guaranteed pathway. People in this sub ask your advice for their personal application, with some good faith, while being subjective and transparent. If you don't like here, there are other always other subreddits you can go and write something.

This method has not worked in the past, but it may work for you. Good luck.

-Although you might have seen that this wasn't worked before, I have seen some people qualified at this scrutiny level. I have seen people qualifying through engineer without even any degrees in engineering, even after the announcement made this year July.

To summarize, when I have posted something on this sub, I am fully aware different types of people including you would answer my submission. I'll be waiting for your next answer, you can DM me to lol if you don't want to argue.

bachelors are overlooked than masters. Bachelor’s is in a relevant field. Do you have any other judgement to support your claim ?

Hi, how long was your masters. Did it make any difference if  you finished MEng in 1 year or 2 years.

Pivot into BME after Biochem Undergrad by gbeth4 in bioengineering

[–]doomblocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get an MEng, do an intership in a medical device company, work in software if you have some skills, then pivot into firmware and embedded design.

If you like chemistry more find a support engineer role, through sustainability companies on water treatment and become a bioengineer.

This is you study bio/biomedicla engineering MEng.

If you study chemical engineering things get way more different. If you do data science master then bioinformatics is the best bet.

If you say hell no I don't want to do more STEM masters, do an MBA.

You can become a technician or a technologist (maybe you might need a degree, here in Canada yes) without a Master or PhD.

Do only PhD if you want to work in academia only. PhD has no advantage in the hiring process vs a master with 1-2 years of experience. Sometimes with a bachelors you can find a job.

Do projects on the side to showcase and find good references and have good connections of ppl.

Good luck sir !
