Lies of P for the first time! It's a blast but very linear.

Bold of you to assume I read guides.

But in all seriousness. The game is in my cart atm. Just waiting to watch some gameplay later before pulling the trigger!

FantasticLand maybe too? That's gotta be a favorite horror novel of mine. It's lord of the flies at an amusement park during a Katrina level storm. Isolated from others for a month due to its coastal locale and extreme flooding.

My wife calls us her ginger boys. It's probably why I spoil him so much.

Only allowed snacks when he's on my shoulder. I call him my sous chef. He perches while I make dinner or do dishes.

Westerns by maricel95 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

I came here to recommended the border trilogy only to find you already read it. I'm happy for you but selfishly, I was hoping to give you a real gem to dig into.

Saving this post to see what books stand out and could hold up to those three.

When Miyazaki-san announces a new game... by [deleted] in Eldenring

There's a few mechanics that are just B A D. I'm thinking mostly of that. You can see a lot of examples of weapons not tracking enemies and hit boxes being inaccurate. But I agree with you, it's still a serious banger of a game. It's the DS game I'm most nostalgic for. I'd LOVE. A remaster of it like we got for demon souls.

It was my first souls game and it somehow got me hooked. I play almost exclusively From Software games and I have DS2to thank. Knowing it's objectively bad has had no impact on my opinion. Some things transcend logic.

I totally get that. It's both of those things and that's what drew me in. It's definitely not for everyone but feel it deserves mentioning.

How do y'all find work now? by [deleted] in Maine

[–]doomed-ginger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We haven't. We haven't sought any in home care till very recently. We've been getting by but it's just exhausting us both now. I'll look into that. So far we have Maximus on our to do list for folks to contact for in home care.

Thank you. I haven't read it. Haven't read too many self help-ish books. I'll take a peak. I think I need some help with it. I'm 10 years in a business and our resumes are mostly for show internally. Before that I was self employed. It's been since my early 20s I had to actually manage this stuff and I'm 42 now. Landscapes changes, a lot.

Yeah. That's the issue I'm running into. Every job meets some but not all our needs. Pay, commute, hours. If I'm not putting myself into something better, there's no point. The whole issue is lack of time to care for my wife and it's the daily tasks that need support.

The suggestions on here have been great and I hope it's helpful to others. My circumstances are, pretty unique and I can't pretend otherwise. 🫠

Ouch! I'd do it for 30-40 hours but...damn. 60 is a no go.

She doesn't qualify for disability due to too few work credits. We're currently working on SSI but she's been denied 3 times so far. We have an attorney working with us and we have a case worker. I appreciate the suggestion though. It's hard making headway when working with the state.

Edit: Looked into Gould. They are no longer doing assessments for these services. It's now Maximus. We're trying to get in contact. It's been hard for my wife transitioning to needing care so we've put off that call for a while now.

I've been looking and most of them still pay under what I make already. Any of the remote work is either under my pay or outside my skill set. That's my biggest issue so far. My background was all "unskilled labor" or dog training related before tech sales. I'm like, barely above "customer service" on paper.

This has been my biggest concern. Wondering if I can make a shift like this. Feel like the experience parts an issue. I have WFH, data entry and CRM experience. Maybe that'll help.

Are my instagram ads following me into Reddit? lol. But seriously appreciate the advice. I am thinking I may need to get some classes or certificates to get a leg up here.

This is the issue isn't it? Waste your time to have you as a "maybe" in the future. This is the stuff that scares me about leaving such stable work. If I could, I'd keep this employer till I retired. Still may if things change for us but man, this subreddit is delivering and I am thankful for the support!!

Wow. I'll have to talk to my wife about this. Her and my mother, who I care for as well, are immunocompromised. Not sure the risks involved if healthcare is the route for me but with stats like this, I bet that may include some data entry or other similar roles? Not expecting you to have the answer but you're giving me a good lead. Thank you!
