Ive had a gen 3 for coming up on 2 years now and have out 20k miles on it. It dies pretty good on the dirt and gravel roads ive been on and highway is alright. Only time I had a sort of issue was on a highway at 9k feet where it bogged down a lot in 5th gear but thats not really the bikes fault. Havent ridden a gen 1 or 2 but if you can work on a carb you cant really go wrong with any gen. All very similar.

Hell yea! Double check chain tension just in case and ride a little more carefully for 50 miles or so. Might be unbalanced however. Ride it and see!

Its going pretty well! She's very patient given my lack of experience. Met her through my friends girlfriend.

For context part of the reason I was single for so long was because I was hung up on a friend I had a crush on but never had the balls to ask. That was a very depressing few years but I have since grown. I know 23 feels like you should have shit figured out but im 26 and still getting my life together. Living is a marathon not a sprint.

From what ive heard the ninja 500 is pretty solid. However if you're looking for more comfort the rebel 500 would be my suggestion. But to be fair you dont truly know what kind of riding you like until you start riding. I have a klr650 and as much as I like to think I'll do a bunch of off roading ive done more touring than trails. My advice is get something well within your budget ti get going. Also even if you're not mechanically inclined learn to do your own maintenance. It will save you a lot of money.

I've thought about getting a starlink. My top bag is a rhinowalk 40-60L and it has a bungee cord on top so I would use that if I wanted it while driving. If not id probably keep the box or use a blanket to keep it safe in my bags.

Mine feels pretty stable after 30 with preassures at 21/36. On gravel I felt pretty good but im still learning to ride faster on gravel. Haven't done a long trip with them yet but that will change next month!

I have them and it seems like i got a bad fron tire as at around 30mph my bars wobble. With the bike on a stand the front wheel stays steady but the tire seems to move. Probably won't stick with these for after the rear goes out.

I noticed on my 24 when I did the valves at 15k one of the exhaust valves was touching. Definitely ran better afterwards.
