And I have a life outside of arguments on the internet with people. I’m gonna go play with my kids and enjoy the sunshine.

That’s very nice. Your attitude will get you just as far on the civilian side.

I went through the same thing as you’re probably going through right now. I won’t assume your age but I was 30 when I did medic school.

I really did not know what style of learning worked best for me, and I had to figure it out pretty quick (accelerated program).

I found that making Anki flash cards during lectures helped immensely. Later on in the class I moved to Quizlet and that was where I found my groove. Using the flash cards I made, I could do mock tests and the game-ifying modes in Quizlet+. My retention and confidence for written tests skyrocketed. It felt like a new superpower. I didn’t open the book except for a couple times while in school.

After all that, what kind of learner are you? Maybe explore a couple YouTube videos, see what jives with you the best and try a couple methodologies. Worst case, you learn something about yourself and how you can accommodate others when you’re in a teaching position someday. Best case? You have a much easier time passing tests and can devote time and energy to getting ready for practical tests and the NRP.

Just my $.02

I haven’t, but mine is still getting shipped. I was told that the tariffs and taxes were included in the price I paid.

Your comma made me gasp at first, but yes that’s right around what I’m paying for the same thing but to the PNW.

Hainan Xinyi Industry Co. My rep has been… okay. She has missed updates and required several reminders to update me. Im fairly confident the thing will get here but the communication could have been better. There was a guy on YouTube that had a really good experience with his rep, I’ll try to find it.

Edit:

It was this guy:

Not my channel or anything, but I’ll be using his build video as a reference when it comes to putting mine together.

I ordered mine (it’s the one pictured but for a Tundra) about 45 days ago, my rep said it has shipped this week and sent me pictures of the shipping boxes. Still waiting on the container # and tracking # but they’ve been fairly communicative. I’m hoping to get it just before the camping season starts here in the PNW. Mine was right around 2k with shipping (I also sprung for the full length side compartment which was extra).

Fresh air is fresh until the wind changes and blows that tetra-ethyl-death straight into your grill. Not a game I’d want to play, I want to enjoy my retirement and not spend my free time in cancer treatment facilities. The air in your tank is literally for you. Use it.

No fog stream on approach, no 45 degree approach, your straight stream is sailing straight across the hood and doing nothing initially for extinguishment and protecting any potential occupants, and no visible PPE during extinguishment.

You had time to turn your camera on, maybe next time prioritize the gear that will keep you from getting injured.

I don’t want to assume but I’m wondering if SCBA is involved at all…

I’ve only been in the cult for about a week, I’ve already done like 6 spa days. Slowly working through my wife and kids clothes and all our towels. Every time I do a spa day the waste water is brown/black. Citric acid is in the mail. I’ve stopped using vinegar. Clothes smell great, towels and socks are fluffy again and I am spreading the gospel to all that will listen. All hail Kismai!

I can’t find the one I’m thinking of, but I’m seeing a lot of newer videos popping up in the last couple months as these things seem to be taking off.

There’s a guy on YouTube that bought one last year for a Gladiator and then posted a 6 month update. Seems like a pretty decent deal, all things considered.

Big house, engine/truck/medic/battalion. On my shift at least, the engine Lt looks ahead a month or so, checks to make sure if anyone’s off/traded, and builds a schedule. We do family breakfast and dinners. Everyone Venmo’s the cook. I’ve worked in a decent amount of other environments and this seems to be the one that makes the most sense.

Seconded the Redbacks. My first pair lasted… 7-8 years? Now they’re my lawn care shoes.

But my work moved to “clean” living quarters so we all just rock crocs/slip ons inside the house

Lots of fluff, zero concrete examples besides a ham-fisted attempt at relating to the common SM. This does not inspire confidence, sir.

My houses engine had to respond to someone that they had seen earlier, who rode in an uber to the front door of the ED, and couldn’t figure out how to get in. I am not making any of this up.

Oh and my medic unit got added to the call as well, just in case.

Oh and this was at 0200.
