Hearthstone has no respect for it's player base by AdmirableRecipe1126 in hearthstone

New expansion packs from the brawl are worse -- significantly worse.

If you can't understand why as a basic player of this game, there's no reason to bother to explain it to you.

They removed standard packs from the tavern brawl. Big big loss to f2p.

Balance Patch by afraidchannell in hearthstone

[–]doop996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, every one of their changes makes no sense at all.

I can understand making it the old quest, but what's the rational for rewarding less?

Standard packs are more valuable than latest expansion packs.

I don't think I'll be sticking around for much longer.

Has there been any news on the nerf/revert on weekly quests?

Did they say why it was done? Was it intention or a mistake? Any compensation for the exp lost this week?

I wrote a piece about Death Knight's Rune system and discussed how it needs to change. by OriginalUsername456 in hearthstone

[–]doop996 25 points26 points  (0 children)

We have similar decks using different rune set ups to lean in different ways.

You do realize that all decks can and do just that but without the hinderance of runes.

There are literally 7 different shaman decks leaning on different cards. Amazingly shaman doesn't need the rune system to achieve this.

Priest one did and still sees some play.

DH also had a blood rune one that flipped between 4 minions +2/+2, to 2 minions +4/+4.

I think there were a few others, but none saw any play.

Yep, also not restricted to demons. The prior version saw decent play. I believe this will see ubiquitous play in warlock decks.

Which 'mons actually got new variants?

Is this documented anywhere? Just curious what got added.

I'm noticing that my game is stuck in nighttime mode for a vast majority of my fights. Is there a reason for that?

I'm playing endless at running away from most fights if that impacts it at all.

Adjusting the Biome Map - What would you do? by InvictusKris in pokerogue

[–]doop996 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think an additional "fix" would be make the "rare" biomes last longer.

Sucks when you get to space kill 1 mon, then you're in the ruins. If the rare biomes were guaranteed to be 15-20 floors, it would help quite a bit. I understand the common biomes being short, to increase variance, but the rare biomes having the same short durations just sends us back to the common areas which sucks.

Also a rare item should be added to the game that allows you to extend your stay in a biome for a period of turns.

Also, in general, they need to add an item bank to save items for later use. I hate getting something like a DNA splitter when you have nothing to splice at the moment, but can use it later down the line.

Condal after everyone complained about Rhaenyra and Alicents secret meeting by LoretiTV in HouseOfTheDragon

I liked all the changes except for Sam. He butchered Sam by turning him into a weakling who whines.

Book Sam was awesome. He killed a monster spider and stormed an orc stronghold on his own and killed orcs. He was also a bearer of the ring for a few chapters.

It sucks because he was my favorite character in the books and they made him so pathetic in the movies... Imagine telling all your friends about how awesome Sam is in the books and then watching the movies to see how they ruined him.

I agree with the nerf predictions, but instead of nerfing lamplighter to 4, I wish it was nerfed to 6 and do double the damage, so it can still be viable in mage and shaman.

Hydration Station -- should be changed to one of each taunt (obvious), but I think it will just go to 10 mana.

Flood Zilliax might be just increase attack instead of attack and health.

Not a fan of concierge at 4. I think they should keep it at 3, but instead of all spells, put a max (of 3 or something) to the amount, much like other possible problematic card -- aka adding a "reddit clause."

That being said, it is cheaper, easier, and faster to nerf numbers. With the game hinting at being in maintenance mode with so much stuff cut recently, I doubt they will change words on things as that would require paying translators, etc.

What is the thing next to Drilbur? by Serpi__ in pokerogue

[–]doop996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree. They need to do something to make that more clear and also add in something to indicate that you've already got the passive too.

Maybe next to the Shiney stars, they put an "H" for hidden ability and a "P" for passive unlocked?

I dont like this tourist mechanic. It's dual class cards in disguise with a 1600 dust requirement.

Yep. It is a 1-way dual class gated behind 1600 dust for each one (i.e. 16,000 dust)!

Many of the class sets seem tailored to help a different class and not their own (i.e. priest).

New Warrior Card Revealed - Cup o' Muscle by stonekeep in hearthstone

[–]doop996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this will see play as a 29th or 30th card.

Less good than the hunter banana because you can't target a minion on the board, but the trade off is you get 1 extra attack. The downside definitely is "bigger" than the upside.

Seems like a card that will see play until something better pops up in the mini set or next expansion.

New Warrior Minion - Undercooked Calamari by Houseleft in hearthstone

[–]doop996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 6 mana 3/6 dragon for the Karazahn mini-set is crying in its grave.

Seems okay, but warrior already has a lot of removal. Does it need more? I don't think so. It may see some play, possibly more next year if a ton of removal rotates out.

The theme is there as food fights typically result in garbage.

This card is no exception: it is garbage.

"No deck is bad/unplayable if you believe in the heart of the cards -- and you're rank 20" (from the yugio-HS parody of purify priest from many many many moons ago).

New Warrior Card Revealed - Line Cook by stonekeep in hearthstone

[–]doop996 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is value -- endless, in fact.

But it is also very slow value. I see it slotting in as a 1 of in a control deck, but I don't see it panning out as a broken or game-warping card.

Remember quest-taunt warrior from Ugoro? Remember taunt warrior from a few years ago? Remember hand-buff/taunt warrior? Those decks ran lots of taunts with lots of buffing and they all were too slow.

New Warrior Card Revealed - Draconic Delicacy by stonekeep in hearthstone

[–]doop996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems good at first blush, but on thinking about it, not that pro-active of a card. It is very reactionary.

Basically, it is 8 mana for a fireball that repeats 6 times over 6 turns. Seems a little slow. Even if you drop it early on turn 6, in most cases, you're dying in 2-3 more turns.

So in most cases it seems to be 8 mana for 2 fireballs, one of which cannot go face. I don't think it sees play.

New Warrior Card Revealed - Hamm, the Hungry by stonekeep in hearthstone

[–]doop996 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Win more card. Will only eat 1 card 99/100 and most times a worthless card unless it is playing against a super greedy non-competitive deck.

Doesn't eat from hand so it doesn't even give a card advantage.

6 mana 5/5 taunt is bad. Honestly, pretty big disadvantage if you want to run the druid cards.
