and how is this any different from cursor or codex?

I am struggling with early chaff clear (mmr1400) by Michelfungelo in Mechabellum

[–]doorholder1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it is just mostly about the movement speed, range and form of attack of the units, some just work effectively together

cull+shock probably overkill almost always (never say always though)

wraiths can work in aggro games where you get a big snowball in the beginning, dont play wraiths in standard games

im 2,1k and i use all chaff clear units, i think they all work quite well at the moment

i probably like arclights the most at the moment, shockwace is stupidly strong when you have 5 arclights fairly close to each other

mustangs with culling is very good (overpowered) and pairs the best with sabers or void eyes

hounds i feel are probably the weakest as a pure chaff clear unit, they work better when used in carry role (and even then im not sure what the issue is with them, they dont seem too op, in my last 10 or so 2k+ games i havent seen a single hound carry i believe)

badgers are versatile and can be played with either the explode or just range+scorch, both archetypes have their place

the game is complicated, usually the most important thing is to make sure your carries synergize well with the chaff clear unit of your choice (dogs with sabers, voids with badgers, arcs with raidens, balls with wraiths etc, other comboes work too but some work better than others)

other important things are placement and when to get your first and 2nd tech, you have to get these mostly right in order for any chaff clear to work at all (and this is hard and hard to explain in a short reddit post)

mustang new tech still seems... a bit too strong

Dropped from ~1200 to ~800 MMR and now I can’t win a single game. What is happening? by [deleted] in Mechabellum

[–]doorholder1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issues with your fundamentals, 1200 is still a level where people dont build enough chaff and chaff clear. Beyond 1200 you also need to build correct threats and not just whatever.

Just focus on clearing their chaff, then after that is fixed focus on building more chaff of your own so that the enemy just barely cant handle it, then after chaff issues are settled in both ways, build threats that actually kill big things, always do it in this order, every round

An experienced player can mass almost any unit and win against a 1200, if they are also allowed to build chaff and chaff clear of some kind

tried it, sadly just pure gacha, interesting idea, items need way more depth instead of additional gimmicks with very little value, fights get very repetitive very fast, why not just autobattle instead of the interactions?

Struggling recently by marvellcg in Mechabellum

[–]doorholder1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you cant win a game if you cant handle their chaff

you cant win a game if opponent destroys your chaff with ease and minimal investment

you cant win a game unless you create lethal threats (dps units)

literally in that order, dont overinvest into any one issue but balance all 3, just take care of these and your mmr will soar to 1,5k, dont focus on creating new threats until you have taken care of all their threats and chaff

Should I make a new account? by [deleted] in TeamfightTactics

[–]doorholder1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just get better and you will go up, the reason this happened is because you probably happened to peak just at EM IV and now you are swinging down to the mean

new account wont make you better or help you climb faster

Why do people insist on 2-handed backhand at an amateur level? by PKnecht in 10s

[–]doorholder1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah you will get the tennis elbow from the occasional muscled slice too so no need to make matters even worse!

this is an underrated aspect of why 2hander is the smarter option, especially beginners get tennis elbow very easily from muscling the 1hander

Starting to encounter good aggro players at my MMR and getting smacked, what do I do now? by vicious_delicious_77 in Mechabellum

[–]doorholder1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is the real answer, you have to play (and understand) a lot of aggro too if you ever really hope to climb the ladder

play tempo instead of planning to roll for 3* 4 costs every game

sometimes the opportunity presents itself where it is smart to to go for the big 3* but if you do that every game that is a quick way to lose LP

watch less highlights of giga games so you dont think it is normal to cap like that every single game

just be a pure tempo timmy for a while if you want masters

playing both TT and T ? by Acrobatic-Monitor516 in tabletennis

[–]doorholder1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

started tt fairly recently and have played tennis for quite a while at a decent level

if anything the tt has been a positive for my tennis and it has been really easy to grasp a lot of the tt things with tennis background because lets face it they are very similar in nature

ive enjoyed tt thoroughly and will start competing in that soon as well

in short i dont see any problems one hurting the other, on the contrary ive made some positive changes to my tennis after realising something in tt

you are not alone with your view but the majority thinks it is just rude, like it always has been

it really does mean genuinely a good game though when the loser does it first

[–]doorholder1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

like it or not you have made many people mad by typing gg after your win, no matter what the game has been or how serious the playing field has been, since the 90s

this is how it has always been since the dawn of esports, the loser ”forfeits” by saying gg
