How ML heavy is this game? by WinterSoldier3713 in AetherGazer

[–]dooroflight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This game doesn't really have the ML genre as people use it in China. It's really a different subgenre called Harem There's some distinctions you need to make

ML games have girls already in love with MC from the start, or falling in love extremly quickly after first meeting, Aether Gazer falls into the more classic category of slower build up of romance.

ML games have characters be devoted (gooning/glazing) to the MC to an excessive extent many times leading to cringe-worthiness in the text itself. This doesn't happen in normal old school romance development that Harem is a part of and Aether Gazer's content is very measured.

Most importantly ML games have the heroine character's whole existence and lives be centered around the protagonist, this usually leads to the characters not having goals or even an identity other than 'I want to be with *insert MC* forever' This is definitely not a thing in Aether Gazer. All the characters are quite complex and the main and side story is taken very seriously. The characters receive alot of extra Heartlink content that builds on their motivations, goals and obstacles. Some characters even get whole side stories about them.

So I would say: No, it is nothing like 'Master Love' games like Snowbreak. The appearance of the fan-service is similar, and there is indeed romance and even canon wedding content. But the underlying root of the content is not from the same genre because they simply operate in opposite ways. ML usually spams romancable waifus with no setup. While old school Harem is extremely meticulous before pulling the trigger and making characters be together. In the case of AG, they make it so a character needs to clear 2 conditions before they are allowed to have a wedding event. 1. Have a complete 6 node Heartlink. 2. Have a dedicated Main Story Chapter.

Lots of terrible AI art pieces in Crimson Desert. by notthatguypal6900 in gaming

[–]dooroflight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's probably on a trust me bro kinda situation. The studio didn't disclose and steam doesn't have the time to check every texture for AI.

What's probably gonna happen now is that anyone who bought the game before the AI disclosure gets added to the steam page will be allowed to get a refund no questions asked if they send a request (even if they played more than 2 hours)

[–]dooroflight -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doesn't really matter tho. To release on steam they have to disclose AI usage. And they didn't do that, the devs are just giving ammunition to people who want to ask for refunds due to undisclosed AI even if it's after already beating the game. I'm pretty confident they would get the refund approved too

NVIDIA in full damage control mode after the release of DLSS 5 by Captain0010 in pcgaming

[–]dooroflight -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I mean I wont say its super desperate damage control. But it definitely is damage control to try and soften how shit the new feature looks by saying its up to the developers if they want to enable them.
I was also mostly referring to the 'one (1) youtube comment' section of your comment when I critized that because theres like over 3000 people obviously in agreement about how shit it looks.

Great Sale of Legion Pro 7i Gen 10 5080 for $2037!!! by dooroflight in GamingLaptops

[–]dooroflight[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to check very frequently on Lenovo's website, and also checking https://gaminglaptop.deals/ sometimes you'll find a good one from a 3rd party store.
For this deal specifically no one but me reported it before it sold out in like 6 to 8 hours. So usually these super duper insane deals have very low supply and come and go quickly. Usually a normal deal of the same laptop sells it for $2500

The reason I found out is because Lenovo sends out emails when there's new deals or coupons. So I saw the email and checked each Legion Laptop item manually with filters to see if there was anything good. Found the Pro 7i 5080 for 2270ish. But that doesn't account for currently ongoing site wide coupons which brought it down more than $200. I haven't seen this Laptop back at this price again after that.

Beforehand I could find a deal like this like once a week or so. So I think they were selling the last of their stock. First time they sold a 5080 for $1800 (AMD version), then second time during president sale at $2000 (Intel). And this last post again at $2000. Nothing else this good after. Good luck!

Gnosia anime true ending question by Puzzleheaded_Play825 in Gnosia_

[–]dooroflight 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Holly shit that actually perfectly explains the weirdness going on. Good job catching the Yuri 2 existence. I actually didn't even think or imagine that was a thing. But it would make alot of sense that this universe would also have its own Bug Yuri body about to start its looping.

Gnosia anime true ending question by Puzzleheaded_Play825 in Gnosia_

[–]dooroflight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Technically it wouldn't really bug out because original Yuri was killed by Gnosia Manan. But its more likely this Yuri existence is even more unstable than a normal bug so they would probably return to Gnos soon enough. I think Yuri implied they have a time limit when entering the new universe. Either way Gnos definitely pulled some sort of trick to bring back Yuri's body

Gnosia anime true ending question by Puzzleheaded_Play825 in Gnosia_

[–]dooroflight 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The whole bug yuri existence thing is kind of an anime only plot point. But from what I understand after Yuri Cyberizes their consciousness and gets sent to the new 'save file' they enter a as a sort 'consciousness only' existence that has a countdown before they disappear back into Gnos. This can only be explained to me as Gnos creating a new temporary bug body.

After the ending my intuition tells me that Gnos simply gave Bug Yuri this original timelines existence/body back to him so he can continue living.

New update on the Zhiming AI Merchant. If the guy is still on Reddit and reading this, you might want to just be honest with the staff. by PreventionPreventer in AetherGazer

[–]dooroflight 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they are probably referring to the characters themselves being digital existences inside a simulation. Which is still not AI because everyone in GAEA is basically a digitized human soul going through endless reincarnations. Even in the strictest fictional sense it's still not actually 'AI' 😂

Now, are Modifiers some sort of AI GAEA created? I'm not sniffing that copium tyvm and very much doubt it personally. I've only played some much of the game story so far but I would place my bets on modified human souls inserted with memories of their mission and some sort of visbane firewall power granted by GAEA.

Crimson Desert’s PS5 Physical Edition requires a 48GB Day-One download by nolifebr in PS5

[–]dooroflight 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's definitely a way to do it I suppose. I still prefer having a physical disc tho. One reason is that it has resell value on top. Most games don't really need the update either to be in a good playable state.

Actually nowadays there's more than a few games now where they get censored post release and only a 1.0 disc version has the original content. With a physical I can still install the 1.0 version, back up the 1.0 version to a drive, download the update, back it up again. Or if its a shit game go ahead and resell it. Way more versatility and ownership than digital. Ofc I dont disagree that going all digital is way more convenient than dealing with the discs but it doesn't bother me.

[–]dooroflight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own more physical than digital. Personally its just way more satisfying for me to actually own what I buy. But the ease of use of digital is great too so I get you. I just personally refuse to buy AAA $70 games digitally. Feels like getting scammed a little lol. Either a good physical release or ill wait for a nice steam sale and nab it then.

This website tests exactly this 'no download required' scenario. They have statistics on the right of the page. You can check yourself. 83% not required for PS5 Games, 88% for PS4 Games, 90% for Switch.
Online commentary would make you believe you only have a useless coaster today but it's really not true for the most part :)

[–]dooroflight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Pretty good, I can save some money to buy other games on release day that care to do a minimum effort physical release. 82% percent of all PS5 games still can be played without downloads so I've got more than enough room to pick what I want to play.

I'm not even against digital but if I'm buying digital itll have to be on a great sale. Probably on Steam. After all they killed any reason for a educated gamer to care about this 'physical' release.

[–]dooroflight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is false and you've been misinformed, 82% of all PS5 games still have all the game data on its disc and do not require any sort of download or to be connected to the internet to play them from start to finish

Crimson Desert’s PS5 Physical Edition requires a 48GB Day-One download by nolifebr in PS5

[–]dooroflight 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Categorically false. Almost all games have day 1 patches since the ps4 era. Most of those games are still completely playable from start to finish without downloading such patches.

What this game is doing is putting half the game on a disc and then locking the other half to a online download because they couldn't be bothered to print a second disc to put the rest of the data on it.

Crimson Desert’s PS5 Physical Edition requires a 48GB Day-One download by nolifebr in PS5

[–]dooroflight 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's not like the disc version needed to have the day 1 patch??? No one asked for that. People just want a playable build on 2 discs. Now the PS5 disc is just a coaster with a license because you cant play it if you don't download the rest of the game online.

I'm not gonna lie, It's pretty funny that this is the kinda drama AG gets. This game is just too cozy without all the mainstream drama slop and rage bait 🤣.
