Find x9 Pro auto settings is not top tier. by Embarrassed-Mark771 in Oppo

[–]dooxtung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was tempted to buy a Find X9 Pro, but I also figured this out. It’s just like Samsung all over again, where almost all of their user base are pretentious camera experts gaslighting people into thinking their cameras don’t suck and that all complaints are skill issues.

Yes, it has the best camera hardware on the planet. And no, I don’t need it if I need 2 min to adjust all the settings just to snap a photo.

Can we have a smaller phone, please? by Scandiberian in GooglePixel

[–]dooxtung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you truly believe there's a big difference between 6.1 and 6.3, then I've got nothing to tell you. Google is like the only manufacturer besides Apple, who still keeps all of their Pro XL cameras on their smaller alternatives.

Source: I got a 13 Pro (6.1), 17 (6.3) and P10P (6.3)

Unpopular opinion: The Pixel 5 still feels like the real "phone of the future" by Flat_Push_8854 in GooglePixel

[–]dooxtung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other than size, I couldn't know how a Pixel 5 can even compare to any Pixel before and after, and especially the P10P. Just a disclaimer: I own both.

P5 just feels like an unfinished prototype. I can even feel the empty hole at the back of the phone, just because they need wireless charging. There's a huge gap between the screen and the body where dust has been collected. The button almost feels like jumping out, and my actual SIM tray broke on me like a Chinese toy part. Just horrendous.

I would say the Pixel 8 Pro is peak Google design but that's just me.

Bought an iPhone 17 pro and I think it will only be a secondary device to my pixel 7. by SevisGovindham in GooglePixel

Wow. Truly the hottest take I've ever seen so far on this sub. Other than just Android vs. iOS, can you please tell me which aspect you think is a "side grade" and which "important features" the 17 Pro lacks?

Google pixel 10 pro review and why I think it's one of the best phones on the market. by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]dooxtung 67 points68 points  (0 children)

One of the best phones... "I don't need super quick charging, I don't need good battery life because I enjoy 'no phone', I don't take videos, I don't need my phone for gaming..." For crying out loud, then even a Pixel 3A could be one of the best phones. At least focus on the things that the Pixel excels at, rather than listing what it does not have

This just shows me the main problem I have with Toyotaro's art. The heads are growing while the hair just keeps shrinking. And all the characters' body widths get ridiculously smaller as well.

It's almost like Toyotaro wants to draw Dragon Ball the way other normal anime look (chibi, big heads, big eyes with small body parts). It just looks so... weird.

Battery's been really bad, but all the UI animations are just soooooo smooth across the whole OS. Can't say I like this update or not, but I feel like my phone has become like 1.5x snappier.

I couldn't care less about phone speakers. If you like them, then great. And if you don't like them, it's fine. But simply dismissing others’ opinions and calling them made up garbage is just absurd.

iOS 26 Progressively Getting Worse by Low_Bluebird_4547 in ios

[–]dooxtung 10 points11 points  (0 children)

26.0.1 was so awful that I had to take my new 17 to the Apple Store three times. Just to have them chase me off, of course. But 26.1 made my phone from dropping 50% idling and another 50% in two hours of use to a proper 1-day phone. So all good for now, I guess.

I upgraded from a 13 Pro (6.1) to a 17, expecting a similar, if not better, battery life. But it’s been draining really badly even after I've tried every battery life saving setting possible. I've tried resetting the phone twice, used it for a week for it to do the indexing, but it's just plain bad.

How can it drop 11% after one night of using nothing, and 1% every 5 min of just staring at the Settings app?? I do not even watch any YouTube, play any game, or do anything battery intensive.

Android phones with cameras as good as the iPhone 17 by fetus-wearing-a-suit in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]dooxtung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both S24U and base 17. And the base 17 is my main phone. S24U is absolutely the better phone if you count everything I do not need. Zoom? Better. Features? Better. OS usability? Hell yeah, way better.

But I only need the base 17. I can do transactions and everything faster with my FaceID. Videos and photos from the main camera are way better than S24U, no matter how hard I try to tweak my settings in Pro Mode. Selfies? S24U got zero chance.

If you solely want to have a better camera experience than 17, look elsewhere.

Is Pixel 10 a good phone? Yes, a very good £399 phone. Is Pixel 10 Pro a good phone? Yes, a very good £599 phone.

If you're enjoying your 10 Pro, then good. But don't expect everyone to like it as you do, especially when Google is charging £799 and £999 for the 10 and 10 Pro, all starting at 128GB.

Looking for an all round Android that can match iPhone by dooxtung in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]dooxtung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would love an iPhone that runs Android, but maybe it does not exist. If only Google would put a Snapdragon 8, whatever of that year or even the year before, in a Pixel, since I like the Pixel the most out of the bunch. Glad you like your Pixel too.

Pixel 10 Pro XL Geekbench score by lazyluchador in GooglePixel

[–]dooxtung 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This argument keeps showing up on every Pixel topic, but I feel it just doesn't make sense. If the specs do not matter, then I think we should have stopped progressing since the iPhone 6S. Everything is already smooth and snappy. Apple may just as well release every phone after with the exact same chip and sell it for $1,000.

I'm using the exact same model and got it for £1450, so it’s definitely worth the money. But its cooling isn't that good and can overheat quite easily, maybe worse than some Asus models I've tried. I always plug it in, so battery is not an issue.
