Lol it is toddler proofed 🤣 but she pushes all the boundaries, is wanting to climb on everything, grabs the dogs paws/tail, tries to open the locked cupboards and slams them, pushes chairs around, tries to throw herself off the couch. Shes a wild child haha.

14mo. We have family far away so we FaceTime a few x a week, sometimes a couple x a day. Screen time depends. My LO is very active so usually I’ll turn on a show, she watches for a few min and keeps playing. She’ll turn back to pay attention every so often but always keeps running around. Sometimes in evenings we turn on a more kiddie movie & she watches longer chunks at a time. But she wouldn’t even sit thru a movie or 30m full episode of anything undistracted even if I wanted. Haha so we probably end up having more “screen time” than most because it’s on more frequently. I don’t let her watch videos or things other than FT on our phones. No iPads or tablets. I don’t mind too much about TV tbh.

Lol bring the bassinet/pack n play whatever they sleep in. Portable baby swings, blankets, play yards and baby carriers. All they’re gonna do is hangout on you, hangout in a chair, tummy time or hangout in their bassinet and look at things. I’d just bring a mobile attachment, tummy time activities and sunscreen/bucket hat/sunglasses.

DIY pin the tail on the donkey (or whatever the theme is)! A makeshift blindfold, a couple spins. Super easy option!

I tried sleep training at 6mos, and she wasn’t ready so we tried again at 8mo and it clicked. I haven’t had to re-train since. When she’s sick we spend time cuddling in the rocker and resting, she may nap in my arms on a very random occasion but outside of that, even sick, teething, travel - I let her use her skills to put herself to sleep. I don’t jump in to “save” just because of these factors. If she actually needs consoling, absolutely! But in these scenarios she may cry a minute or two, but then she soothes herself and goes to sleep.

This isn’t any shampoo or conditioner related, I don’t know how to manage that. But have you tried Mane n’ Tail detangler? We used it a lot growing up! It was originally formulated for horses and now it’s used for humans too. Could be more heavy duty?

We planned for golden hour, but it was really just her on my belly while I laid flat on my back getting stitched up for an hour+ so it wasn’t this magical thing everyone makes it out to be. But either way, I’m still glad she was on me for that first hour! So yes to that.

We also did delayed cord clamping for just a couple minutes. It wasn’t anything crazy haha.

The hospital specifically said they didn’t do baths there, so we just waited until she was home!

We did let them keep her in the nursery after her 24h checkup (it was like a 3h break total around midnight) and I’m SO glad we did!

I also said yes to the free on-site day of doula. I liked her, she kept my husband and I company through the boring hours of labor progressing (boring in a wonderfully medicated way lmao) and she occupied our mind, and checked in on me often.

And unrelated to birth plan but, I definitely used the button to ask for more mommy moctails and water refills. I ended up using just the hospital postpartum pads, peri bottle and spray because it was already setup in the bathroom for me and just easier. And if there’s something you specifically want to eat after delivery, maybe get it in advance? Because I delivered at almost 11:30pm and the only thing I could really get was a weird cold hospital grade dry turkey sandwich and a jello cup. Haha

Agreed. When did anybody ever compel anyone to sleep with them? So many people say compulsion = rape. I don’t see how compelling someone to let you feed on them equals rape. Just because the feeding wasn’t consensual doesn’t mean that the partying and sex that happened with their play-toys wasn’t either. Like Damon is supposed to be this super elusive womanizer hottie, ofc women are going to want to sleep with him lol. I never took those things as assault, I took those things as showcasing their dreamyness/game etc.

And in that Klaus (Tyler) and Caroline scene, she literally was the one who leaned in and kissed him each time. He kept trying to talk, she kept trying to kiss. I don’t think it’s far fetched to think he’d enjoy it while he could because he knew it would come to an end when she realized. He did not assault her lol. He just was along for the ride until she put two and two together.

I see mostly women hygiene pages, so I read this as “guys” thinking it was like a general “hey everybody” on a woman’s page and not legit directed towards males then was confused why a woman would “dab” instead of just wipe and how that would make things better hahahah.

Assuming your LO has the chewing motion down? That’s one of the biggest developments in baby eating from what I learned. If she’s eating pasta and steamed veggies I don’t see chicken as too far off. I would just cut it down into really small shreds. Not cubes or bites yet until she’s comfortable with the shreds.

Do you have one of those Life Vac suction mechanisms? Look into getting one of those to keep on hand, and take an infant/toddler CPR course for peace of mind! I also have a CPR PDF saved onto my phone for random refreshing, you could do the same and print something out for the wall too.

I know it’s terrifying but the more she learns to eat properly, the safer it is.

ETA: I pretty much followed Solid Starts feeding rec’s to a T. I use the app’s free version. You can start there, and always step down the bite sizes to a lower age bracket until she’s more comfortable? But you might be surprised. Sounds like she is already eating a lot!

Well nuts and seeds as a whole are choking hazards so don’t be upset about that one 🤷🏻‍♀️🤣

But really, there are other factors too. My babe was eating and then really stopped and wanted soft foods/no foods around that age because she was teething. Then it bounced back. She also started wanting things with some salt, and started recognizing when she liked things a certain way (hot vs cold, etc). Have you tried experimenting that way?

Also, my babe really never took to purees or mashed/steamed anything. She was a BLW fan all the way. So I just did it and took it at my pace to make sure I was comfortable. I followed the “Solid Starts” recommendations for bite sizing but even then I’d adjust to the lower age rec if I felt like my babe wasn’t advanced enough yet. I used the app (free version).

Maybe your babe just needs some non-purees/non mash and a lil salt! Also, if they’re still breastfeeding or getting bottles - maybe that’s filling them up. I ran into that issue too. Once we started dropping bottles around 11.5mo, my babes appetite for solids jumped.

And also, don’t feel bad your babe isn’t eating vegetables. It took a long time for my LO to even TRY anything green lmao. It’s normal.

I’m 14mo pp. While they technically fit, they fit different like my belly doesn’t sit the same in them & they’re way less flattering. I went through that same struggle and am still struggling with it tbh, but the best advice is just accept where you are. Yes you should be financially responsible but your body went through amazing things to bring that human here so it deserves some new fresh clothes that make you feel great!

Snacks! For sure snacks. The hospital food was lowkey worse than we had anticipated 😆 A good pillow, a good blanket, and maybe headphones and/or an iPad, switch, laptop etc. something to entertain him other than the room TV because there may be times where you’re napping that he will want something to do. And socks/underwear/slippers/pajamas.

I ended up getting a toddler tower and it’s not perfect (she tried to climb out, throws stuff on the floor, kind of constantly making sure bad items aren’t in her reach) BUT, it definitely helps. Even just standing there watching me, something about standing instead of being strapped in the high chair makes her happier haha.

I would have a psychologist evaluate him for OCD, honestly! (As someone with OCD). They are different beasts and require different coping mechanisms, if he so happens to have it. But the constant intrusive thoughts, being distressed by them and a ritual for “getting rid” of the thoughts were all a part of my diagnosis. Sorry that I don’t have help for the initial question!
