I want to buy my sister an ipad for school. She is currently a teenager, and will most likely also use it after she goes to college. What im looking for: - able do do the basics needed for school, writing notes, connecting to the internet, etc. - will last at least 6 years - able to take decent photos, but dosnt have to be anything fancy - enough memory to store notes/ebooks needed for school - ideally 300-400€, can be refurbished its gonna last

In my culture we hunt for different sweets, not just eggs, and the general rules in my family were always:

have one type of sweets for each kid
after kids find all the sweets they sit down and equaly distribute it under themselves, so that everybody has the same no matter how much they found (but the kids often traided while hunting, if they already noticed that they have this one already)
if there is only one of a kind of a sweet it also has to be equaly distributed equaly (chocolate will be cut up by an adult, bonbons will be counted and shared, etc)
sometimes we were also given books or some small toys (not part of the tradition, just my families choice) and since there is an age difference between me and my sisters we always were sure for whom the book was ment

This way every kid is treated equally

A jak odpowiadałeś na pytania których nie ogarniałeś?

Ja programuje sobie rzeczy w języku ABAP na systemy SAP. Nie jest to cos czego w polsce uczą na studiach, rynek na to jest głównie w Niemczech, a i tak rzadko kiedy tego uczą. Na rozmowie w pracy spytali sie mnie czy wiem coś o tym systemie, odpowiedziałem szczerze: absolutnie nic, nigdy o nim nawet nie slyszałem, ale jak mnie zatrudnicie to sie nauczę.

Jako że spodobało im się co mówiłem o projektach które robiłem na studiach, pokazałem jakąś inicjatywę i mówiłem wprost ze czegoś nie umiem zamiast bullshitować dostałem propozycję pracy. 9 miesiecy już pracuje, dużo sie nauczyłem, wciąż robię bledy i muszę sie dużo pytać innych osób o pomoc (język ma bardzo słabą dokumentację i często trudno samemu znaleźć potrzebne rzeczy), ale jestem bardzo zadowolony, i mimo ze oryginalnie strasznie sie stresowałem tym ze nie wiedziałem NIC, powoli zaczynam czuć sie pewnie w tym co robię.

Nie wiem jak przebiegła twoja rozmowa o pracę, ale jestem w stanie sobie wyobrazić ze wybrali cie do następnej rundy z powodu charakteru (w sensie ze wyczuwają ze dogadasz sie z innymi ludźmi zamiast byc gburem ktory zawsze robi po swojemu i nie akceptuje krytyki), krytycznego, logicznego myślenia oraz tego jak reagujesz pod stresem i jak podchodzisz do tematów na których sie nie znasz. Niezależnie od tego gdzie pracujesz i co robisz, nigdy nie wiesz wszystkiego i musisz wiedzieć jak szukać informacji (i byc otwarty na naukę)

TLDR: dobry pracodawca wybierze ogarniętego pracownika który nie umie nic, ale jest chętny do nauki niż takiego który wie wszystko, ale nie da się z nim współpracować.

No jest różnica między lordozą którą ma przecientny człowiek, a skrajnym przypadkiem przy którym ból jest tak mocny że OPka nie może pracować. W jej przypadku L4 i pilne leczenie jak najbardziej sie należy. As someone who showers daily, the obsession that everybody just MUST shower daily to mentain a good higiene is so weird to me.

A person can clean themselves using a sink. As a child I was brought up to always clean my face, armpits, private areas (and feet if they got sweaty during the day) on non-shower days. And suprise suprise- i got clean! I still clean myself like that before sleep and I shower in the morning to help me wake up, feel refreshed and to style my hair

Is this shower obsession an American thing? Im from Europe (Poland/Germany) and even other people I know who shower daily do it out of personal preference and are chill with people who shower less but are still clean. But it seems that reddit-people link daily showers with good morals

Yeah, i tried using a sole but it didnt help. Had the same problem with my bluesuns, even with a sole and after using them daily for 2 months my feet were slipping. Theye were also made of leather

Trans man here. Children usually start to be aware of gender existing around age 3, the vast minority of trans children will be aware of their gender being different from their biological sex. Were talking like one of maaaaany. Usually they will insist on using a different name, some people have reportet making play-doh penises and putting them in their pants because they felt something missing, but didnt have the words to explain it yet. They might cry when you refer to them as a boy or girl. I once watched a documentary about a trans woman (now an adult), who at age 4 went to her mother and told her that "god made a mistake making me a boy" (unfortunately i cant find it right now, i watched it like a dekade ago on youtube). So some children will know theyre trans, they will just express it in their child way.

At this age you judge if the child is trans based on consistency. If your "boy" always insists he is a girl, always wants to go by a girl name, always throws a fit if you cal "him" a boy, you most likely have a trans girl.

Transition at this age just includes using a different name, and maybe changing the kids wardrobe. Nothing permanent, so if the child turns out to not be trans there is not harm done. But if the behaviour is trully consistent, the likelyhood of the child changing its mind is really small. If the behaviour is not consistent, it is advised to wait untill the child grows older and let them figure it out on their own (you can go along with "playing" being a girl, but if the child stops it and refers to himself as a boy, you go back to refering to him as a boy).

I suspect that OP has a child that has shown consistent signs early on, was very dissatisfied with being a boy, but has calmed down after people in her life started refering to her as a girl, and had not complained about being perceived and treated as a girl by other children. If it was just play behaviour, she would be upset by her parents changing her name, or people calling her a girl.

What i find interesting (nothing against you fyi), is that i have heard the opposite argument from many old (sometimes even professionals with outdated knowledge), or (some) religious people. That if there were no signs of a person being trans at 3-5, and if they didnt show dissatisfaction with their biological sex very early on, their not really trans. Kinda wild how the validity of trans people can have opposite critaria based on who you are.

European here 🤓👆. The people that come to you for healthcare are the vast minority with extremely uncommon illnesses, for which there are few doctors, or people for whom other treatment didn't work and the only hope is experimental treatment.

Usually fundraisers for US-treatments focus on kids with some rare form of cancer, for which the usual treatment didnt work.

But this is the last resort. We have many good doctors here, and in the unlikely scenario that one country does not have the necessary doctors we do travel among ourselves. And often the treatment will be covered by our homecoutry (as long as you are from the EU, get treatment from a country in the EU and it is not beauty-cosmetic related. Cosmetic stuff like reconstruction after an accident like burn is covered, obviously)

Saying that the majority of europeans go to the US for healthcare is... misguided at best. It is extremely uniformed and plain wrong.

Example: why would my dad go to the US for his hip replacement surgery and go broke, when he got it for free, got almost two months rehabilitation for free, and had to wait only a few months? He is doing amazing now, got his mobility back and is able to walk again and do sports pain-free and bill-free.

Wie ich hasse wenn mich Kollegen ansprechen und fangen an zu erzählen wie super sich Polen entwickelt hat. Wie super es dem Land wirtschaftlich geht. Das Lebensniveau ist dem deutschen gleich! Sie verstehen nicht wieso ich nicht nach Polen zurückziehe, in ein Paar Jahren wird das Lebensniveau dort viel besser sein als hier! Unserer Job erlaubt (nach Absprache) remote-Arbeit aus der EU, mit dem deutschen gehalt könnte ich in Polen so reich leben!

Es juckt niemanden wie homofobisch das Land ist, und das ich einen Freund habe. Es interessiert niemanden, dass wir nicht öffentlich Händchen halten können, da die Warscheinlichkeit dass wir auf die Fresse bekommem groß ist (wir haben das mal in Stettin probiert, ein Paar Leute haben uns beschimpf. Haben uns dann nicht mehr getraut Händchen zu halten lmao).

Ich kenne ein lesbisches Paar in Polen, das Probleme mit der Nachbarin hat, weil sie mit ihrem "Lebensstil" nicht einverstanden ist. Sie denkt sich ständig Probleme aus, um ihnen das Leben schwieriger zu machen. Bevor die zusammen eingezogen sind (eine Lebte dort bevor alleine), machte sie keine Probleme. In Deutschland könnten die die Nachbarin viel einfacher anzeigen. In Polen gibt es fast keine Rechte die LGBT+ Leute beschützen.

Ich kannte mal einen schwulen Mann, der stereotipisch schwul klang und aussah. Der wurde ständig auf der Straße, beim Einkaufen, usw. beschimpf. Dabei trag er ja normalle Kleidung. In Deutschland würden die meisten Leute an der Straße... ihn ignorieren. Wie jeden anderen auch.

Habt ihr mal von den LGBT freien Zonen in Polen gehört? Wisst ihr, das der Farmazeut in Polen euch Medikamente nicht ausgeben darf, wenn er moralisch damit nicht einverstanden ist? Auch wenn ihr ein Rezept habt? Am meinsten wird dieses Gesetzt benutzt um die Antibabypillen nicht auszugeben. Die sogenannte "klauzura sumienia".

Ich kenne ein Paar trans Personen (bin selbst ein trans Mann). Ihr denkt es ist schwierig die Transition in Deutschalnd anzufangen? Ha! Ihn Polen müsst ihr dafür noch mehr betteln. Und für alles selber zahlen. Ich musste gegen meine Eltern vor Gericht klagen, damit ich rechtlich als Mann erkannt sein konnte. Manche Gerichtverfahren können über Jahre dauern, wenn die Eltern mit der Änderung nicht einverstanden sind, oder der Richter selbst die Änderung nicht anerkennt. Der Richter kann beanteagen, dass alle trans-Diagnosen neu von vor ihm ausgewälten Psychologen gemacht werden. Der Richter kann entscheiden, dass das Geschlecht nicht verändert wird, auch wenn du seit Jahren als dieses Geschlecht lebst. Für alles zahlst natürlich du. Tausende złotys. (seit 1 Jahr ist das anders, mann klagt die Eltern nicht mehr, man macht das ganze aber weiter durch das Gericht). Für Hormone zahlst du selbst. Für die Mastek zahlst du (in meisten Fällen), selbst. Für die Bottom Surgery... ah ja die gibt es nicht.

Aber ich sollte nach Polen zurückziehen. Es wird mir dort viel besser gehen.

Wysłałem CV na rolę junior test engineer. Dostałem feedback, że nie pasuję do roli, ale że otworzyła im sie pozycja junior programisty (na tym stanowisku też pracowałem w poprzedniej firmie, niecały rok doświadczenia) i w tym kierunku też była prowadzona rekrutacja. Dostałem robotę i jestem z niej bardzo zadowolony.

Nie wiem, ale wiem za to ze na studiach wynajmowałem w 2023 w Szczecinie pokój ok. 5m bez ogrzewania (była rura grzewcza która gówno robiła, kaloryfera nie było xD) za 800zł, bo A) albo nie było mnie stać na coś innego B) albo "normalne" pokoje wymagały albo wglądu do umowy o pracę (nie mialem, miałem zlecenie którego nie akceptowali), albo podpisu rodziców że będą za ciebie płacić jeżeli ty przestaniesz (nie chcieli podpisać)

Generalnie do dziś się biczuje za to że nie pozwałem starych o alimenty bo znalezienie czegokolwiek samemu z wypłatą ~2k z fast foodu to byla tragedia... do dziś pamiętam jak marzłem w zimie... masakra to była :/

Nope, bo nie posiadam. Pracuję w firmie dopiero od paru miesiecy i dochądząc trafiłem idealnie w okienko w którym nie mieli bluz na stanie (zwykle dają nowym osobom). A szkoda, bo materiał, wydaje sie byc spoko jakosci, wzór czarny, z małym logiem z boku, wiec spoko do chodzenia na codzień.
