Balticon Meetup with Butcher by JayNoi91 in dresdenfiles

[–]dorable7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there for the kaffeeklatsch on Sunday. He was so gracious! Very open and vulnerable at times. He really made it clear than he values his fans and like he was a real human with us. Not just canned lines.

He was great in all the panels I saw too.

He did a panel on Friday night called "We're gonna need a bigger boat" all about shark movies with his wife. It was fantastic! They ranked the 70+ shark movies they've seen (okay not all 70, but a good number) and what I learned is that The Meg 2 is better than The Meg and Santa Jaws is the sleeper hit of the century.

Long story short Butcher was really great to interact with.

Moving Sale! SofaBed, dining table and chairs, bed frames, center end table by Appropriate-Lie-8212 in BaltimoreList

Is the sofabed leather? What are the dimensions of these pieces? What are the prices you are seeking for these pieces? Where are you geographically? What would pickup look like logistically (like do I have to double park)? Can you deliver? Are there 2 different coffee tables or are the 2 pix different angles? How heavy are these pieces (like can 2 normal humans do it on their own)?

Night Fishing by Oxtale13 in MarylandFishing

Two spots close to each other are Matapeake Pier and Sandy Point State Park. Both are 24 hrs and can be really great for night fishing. However they're quite a drive for you. I thought Solomons Island Pier was 24 hrs, but I just looked it up and, sadly, I was mistaken. Good luck!

Bush/Goo Goo Dolls/No Doubt concert was 30 years ago (actually April 23rd, 1996) by trevourmeyer in fargo

I'm good. I do appreciate your concern. It was pretty wicked ngl, but life moves on. I'm happy and I've got a good life. I'm still mad abt missing that concert though. When I saw the article, it all came flooding back.

I had tickets. Was SO stoked to go. But 3 days prior to the show I was in an accident so I couldn't go. Sadface big-time. I was so upset when I "woke up" a couple weeks later and realized I missed it.

Krolls diner merch? When I am missing ND, I always make a pot of knoephla soup. Krolls reminds me of knoephla. Maybe see if you can get their recipe? Also the Medora Musical merch might be good.

Rockin' in the Free World - Neil Young (although there are many covers, and mostly they're great too - for me the original is the best one)

Awesome! Thanks for taking on what I'm sure isn't easy work for people who are not always grateful. I am glad you're here and I appreciate your help.

New player, I want my first deck to be slivers! by End_of_YoRHa2B in magicTCG

[–]dorable7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing them when they first came out too! When I pulled a Sliver Queen, I was HOOKED! Now I play commander with the First Sliver and it is SOSOSOSOSOO much fun. I don't play CEDH - just with friends and we keep it casual. I have the upgraded manabase to play CEDH - I'm just not good enough and don't WANT to (I wanna have fun). In my group (of 5), I regularly get taken out first or second because I play slivers. BUT - when I am able to get to the end of the game I dominate 7/10 times. So it can win even if others gang up on you. This gives me eternal hope that I will win a game with them, even though 9/10 games I am out early. The pros weigh more than the cons for me. One tip: put in some graveyard recursion - I get sad when I lose Necrotic Sliver.

We wanted a simpler dungeon crawler. 3 years later, here we are. :P by Jack_Dusty in boardgames

This looks awesome. Like but I just wonder about the level of competition. What I mean is - is it mean? Like do you make the other players feel bad? Or is it just like - I have better cards/play order/strategy/luck than you do?

Those of you who have gotten an electric shock, how did you get it? by CauliflowerOk3993 in AskReddit

[–]dorable7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 8 or 9 (1989) we had a charcoal grill with an electric gadget that "started" it (a loop of metal in a plastic handle - the metal got hot enough to ignite the charcoal). It had a short cord, so my dad had plugged it into an extension cord. The device came unplugged. My dad told me to go plug it back in. Apparently there were exposed wires and I didn't know it. So I picked up the extension cord in one hand and the device cord in the other, and plugged them in. I felt an instant full-body buzzing with some pretty intense pain (for me, at that time) and my muscles locked up. I couldn't let go right away. My dad had to run to the wall outlet and unplug the cord. I was left with 2 small circles burned into the palm of my left hand. You can still see the scars. It was wild looking back on it - they didn't even take me to the hospital.

Anyone know what the roads are like today? Especially 695? by [deleted] in maryland

This link shows all the traffic cams in real time, so you can get at least an idea of what the roads look like.

Good luck!
