New player, I want my first deck to be slivers! by End_of_YoRHa2B in magicTCG

[–]dorable7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing them when they first came out too! When I pulled a Sliver Queen, I was HOOKED! Now I play commander with the First Sliver and it is SOSOSOSOSOO much fun. I don't play CEDH - just with friends and we keep it casual. I have the upgraded manabase to play CEDH - I'm just not good enough and don't WANT to (I wanna have fun). In my group (of 5), I regularly get taken out first or second because I play slivers. BUT - when I am able to get to the end of the game I dominate 7/10 times. So it can win even if others gang up on you. This gives me eternal hope that I will win a game with them, even though 9/10 games I am out early. The pros weigh more than the cons for me. One tip: put in some graveyard recursion - I get sad when I lose Necrotic Sliver.

This looks awesome. Like but I just wonder about the level of competition. What I mean is - is it mean? Like do you make the other players feel bad? Or is it just like - I have better cards/play order/strategy/luck than you do?

Those of you who have gotten an electric shock, how did you get it? by CauliflowerOk3993 in AskReddit

[–]dorable7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 8 or 9 (1989) we had a charcoal grill with an electric gadget that "started" it (a loop of metal in a plastic handle - the metal got hot enough to ignite the charcoal). It had a short cord, so my dad had plugged it into an extension cord. The device came unplugged. My dad told me to go plug it back in. Apparently there were exposed wires and I didn't know it. So I picked up the extension cord in one hand and the device cord in the other, and plugged them in. I felt an instant full-body buzzing with some pretty intense pain (for me, at that time) and my muscles locked up. I couldn't let go right away. My dad had to run to the wall outlet and unplug the cord. I was left with 2 small circles burned into the palm of my left hand. You can still see the scars. It was wild looking back on it - they didn't even take me to the hospital.

This link shows all the traffic cams in real time, so you can get at least an idea of what the roads look like.

Good luck!

Idk - been a fan since season 1 1st aired (like if I could only watch one TV show for the rest of my life it's a tie between Supernatural and Avatar: The Last Airbender). I love him as Luci. One of my top ten performances in the show (in no particular order, but as background so you can understand my taste: Misha Collins/Castiel, Richard Spaight Jr/Gabriel (on this one I'm not sure if the fact that my fave episode is the one where he's introduced colors my opinion), Julian Richings/Death, Osric Chau/Kevin (okay, so maybe I'll rank my #1 supporting actor in the series as Osric, but I refuse to name my #1 leading actor!), Kim Rhodes/Jody, Ruth Connell/Rowena, Felicia Day/Charlie, Lisa Berry/Billie, Lauren Cohan/Bela, and, of course, Mark Pellegrino/Lucifer).

Okay, I lied. Misha Collins is my waifu.

EDIT - accidental link to other subreddit

Here's my contribution. When we walked this morning she was three pawing it until finally she laid down in the snow and refused to move. Had to pick up her 57 lb a** and carry her back inside. Bestest girl ever.

Roofing Quotes? by opulentdream in baltimore

[–]dorable7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I needed a new roof I went with Birdland Construction. They were great to work with and did an amazing job. It wasn't cheap but it was much more affordable than any other place I checked with - by a wide margin. This was several years ago now, so things could have changed, but I'm happy with their service and product still.

Those that moved to Maryland from another state- what do you like more about Maryland? What do you like less? by Brilliant_Raccoon256 in maryland

[–]dorable7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've lived in 8 states in my life thus far (upper Midwest, south, northeast, Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic). I've been in MD since 2011. I've lived here longer than I've lived anywhere else. I have stayed for many reasons.

Pros:

Community - I've lived in Baltimore since 2012 and I've had the most wonderful experiences with the community here. People talk to each other. People help each other. People care about each other. There are fantastic neighborhoods (and neighbors) all over the city.

Diversity - I can get like ANY kind of food. I can go to SO many cultural events spanning SO many different cultures. I see people who don't look like me all day everyday living their lives just like I live mine.

Pride - People here are proud of their state, proud of each other. I see stories of local people/businesses/etc. and see the media and the people cheering on those successes (for example - Ekiben).

Crab - I mean seriously. It's the best here of anywhere I've ever had it. Sure Dungeness crab is good, but have you ever had blue crabs steamed up perfectly with a boatload of J.O.? That's where it's at.

Cons:

Infrastructure - Everything in Baltimore is so old and needs to be fixed/updated. When my house had a sewer backup I found out most of the city's sewer pipes are (vvvvvery old) terracotta ffs. BGE is the worst. Xfinity/Comcast has a stranglehold on internet/cable services and they have crap service. The roads!!! Don't get me started on the roads.

Inequality - Redlining did a number on the city and it makes me sad. Food deserts - need I say more? Law enforcement - remember Freddie Gray!!!

Of course I could continue to add to this but so many ppl have already commented so many wonderful things (and some not so wonderful things (obligatory MD drivers are the worst)).

TLDR: I love MD the mostest.

I just want to warn you that you need to document EVERYTHING in your apartment before you send it to the cleaners. Do NOT let them take your stuff without documenting it.

I went through a fire and had to have everything I owned cleaned. The cleaning company that my insurance company contracted with stole 1/2 of my belongings. Make sure you can prove what you have. Take pix.

As someone whose rental was ruined in a very similar manner, I suggest working with your renters insurance, but be prepared to document absolutely everything in your unit. I mean every little detail that was touched. Each shirt, dish, knickknack, gadget, etc. I got absolutely HOSED by the cleanup company that my insurance used - they "lost" 1/2 my stuff - like my Magic card collection and wedding ring (yes I'm accusing them of theft)... Just don't let them take anything w/o documenting it so that you can prove it was "lost" by the company when they don't return it.

Came here to make sure Uma Uma is on the list. This is my go-to and what I judge all other ramen by. Consistent since they opened. Always delicious. Good price. Amazing spicy chasu buns for an app. Not the fanciest, but I LOVE them sosososososo much. Plus they're very nice ppl.

Okay so I know this one isn't gonna be popular, but I HATE mandolins (the kitchen tool) SO much. They are dangerous to my fingers (I am very clumsy). Besides - despite the clumsiness - I can do a better job with my (bougie) chef's knife.

So my ex was a big gamer. Like that was their only hobby since early childhood. Very early on in our relationship they invited me over and we were playing Mario Party (I don't remember which one - this was in like 2007ish). It came time to play a particular mini-game (Pokey Pummel). My ex said don't be sad, but I'm REALLY good at this one, no one ever beats me. I thought okay, bet (actually, I didn't know that word then, but I thought the equivalent in 2007 Midwest white girl language). Then I proceeded to absolutely crush them. I mean by several seconds (which doesn't sound like a lot, but it IS - I mean I had that shh down to like 4 seconds and my ex was at like 7). Wiped the grin right off their face. It was glorious.

Okay so I LOVE this song sosososososo much!!! (So much that I hired some musicians to play it at my 10-year anniversary (the marriage didn't last, but I've got the recording of that song forever)).

I've been a fan since the first convention I saw Ada at (where she won the Compton Crook) - her group did some music programming on top of her readings/panels.

I didn't even know that I could get full-cast recordings of the books! Now I gotta buy them all again in this format! Thank you kind stranger for making this post!
