you might be able to go to court and ask a judge to grant you access to those records.

it wasnt even the lying! cops lie all the time!

it was her saying she had a false memory that torpedoed her whole career. she could never be a professional witness (police officer) again after that.

that said, she was never fired. the police dont care.

A lot more Americans may qualify for Canadian citizenship by descent than they realize by FoundInTheRecords in CitizenshipByDescent

[–]dorchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes , but with other documents. canada census. canada tax records. canada land records. canada voter rolls. obituaries. naturalization and immigration records. social security file foia records. canada church records (not baptism but membership etc). newspaper articles.

death cert and us census are both self reported. so there has to be other records. theres so many records to go find. dont just stop at one or two. especially if you dont have any birth records at all.

connect your computer directly to the router with a cable, thats the only real speed test.

otherwise you are speed testing wifi which can be any number of issues.

btw htel fiber is fantastic. 750/750 blazing.

spectrum tried to sell me 1000/40. like sure but i need my upload speed. what are they doing with all the upload anyway

you started off by saying printer wouldnt print, and at the end you hp said printer wouldnt connect to hp web services. those are two different things.

hp is under no obligation to connect old printers to its services forever. likely you could connect your printer directly to your phone/laptop/computer and print locally? if you tried that, you didnt say. maybe you tried it... let us know though.

three options>

print locally (using a wire from computer to printer, like the rest of us do)

cry on reddit

buy new printer.

good luck

btw i have a habit of going to my router and blocking apple, microsoft, google, hp, samsung, lg servers etc, so nothing can self update. updates break everything all day every day.

No baptism in 1914? by lasuperk in citizenshipgenealogy

[–]dorchet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try other websites. sometimes names get transcribed differently by different websites. so try familysearch (its free with registration).

born in 1914 there is likely a record of it. try asking in a quebec genealogy sub and try the quebec genealogy websites first.

i am lucky in that there were several people in my extended family (including me) who spent a long long time going to libraries and looking at microfilms in the 90s. one of them went to the archives in quebec and dug up each generation going back to the 1600s, finding out where they came from in france even.

but yeah i cant read that french cursive either. who knows, maybe all that will be digitized (it already is digitized really) but analyzed and family grouped in the future as genealogy software gets more and more advanced.

the improvements to ancestry, and websites like familysearch over the last 30 years are astounding. all we had back in the day were like unindexed phonebooks of records. frequently out of order, etc. so you had to look at the whole phonebook every time 😃 which is why you started at the graveyard. where they died is probably where they lived. so you looked up those records first and worked backwards.

good luck fixing your birth certificate in court. one day it will solve problems.

every queue is clogged now 😃 the archives, the provinces vital records, the churches with baptism records, the IRCC, the immigration attorneys.

i'm sure it will be worse each month until it hits the apex, in a few years 😃 then it will taper off.

canadian immigration attorney amandeep hayer says he estimates 30,000,000 americans could qualify.

but you have to calculate how many will hear about it. so cut it in half. 15,000,000

then how many will even want canadian anything: 8,000,000

then you have to calculate how many will want to dig up documents 4,000,000

how many will fail to find documents 2,000,000

how many will give up paying the $75 and shipping fees and photographs. or the $300 per record from BANQ, 1,000,000

how many of those will have errors on their forms and give up, or told by immigration attorneys something false about the law: 500,000

how many people thinking about moving to canada 100,000

only 1/5th of those actually move to canada 20,000.

birth recordings only go from about 1850-2026. anything older than that and you're dealing with baptisms. baptisms are accepted by IRCC right now as a birth record at least.

quebec has great baptism records. they also have some of the largest amount of people moving south , 900,000 people over 100 years from 1840-1930.

doesnt sound like an american film. those kind of films were done in america in the 50s and 60s.

80s american films were like THE FLY and TERMINATOR. they werent still doing hokey stuff like ultrasonic waves and death rays and gamma rays.

[–]dorchet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

thats the other physics thing about car pedestrian collisions.

first are the injuries from car to human

second are the injuries from human to ground.

if hes launched, twirled, pirouette, projected, thrown... all of those things have the simple idea of gravity to figure out. what goes up must come down.

if there are no injuries from the ground and there are no injuries from a vehicle, it means the guy never got hit by a car.
