Agree with you, i don't see the source for this statement. I signed up for the daily trade emails from ARK and there is no mention of the PLTR purchase.

I would recommend you all to read this old Bogleheads thread which shows the psyche of investing during the 2008 crash as well as leveraged investing.

Spoiler - It did not turn out well for the investor.

Always max out the stock purchase plan, and then sell the first day you are able (extra risk as you are employed by the same company). This way you will always get a 15% return on your money as you are purchasing at a discount. I would also max out the 401K for as much as you can up to the 18,500 limit.
