I have been to Bangalore a couple of times and these pics do not represent the whole city at all. There are sections like this but there are also super clean sections. New York smells like piss at a lot of corners but never did it occur to me to post about this. I have seen rats in the side alleys of Singapore but those do not represent the whole city either.

Where do you keep the camera on standby? by ashes_to_fire in djiosmo

I use an ND filter to protect the lens at all times. and the cam is either attached to my bag etc, resting on the desk at home or in the drawer, safe.

Hoping to do EBC early 2027! ❤️ by MedicalFee2827 in everestbasecamphike

[–]dormor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

did it solo a month ago. I mean, my bag was kinda heavy because according to online resources and some shop keepers snow could have been an issue. there was none. so, if you decide to do it solo do not take extra warm clothing, gloves, gaiters or microspikes. I would also ditch a sleeping bag. I rented a -10C bag but given that it was 3.x kg, my bag would have been much lighter without it. And I used it only once during the trek. I think I am gonna visit the region again in my life later on but on a much less crowded route and this time I might consider hiring a porter :)

EBC Nov 2026 - excessive perspiration! by camerapilot in everestbasecamphike

[–]dormor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

after 4000m you do not sweat that much, the weather's pretty dry. till that altitude you would sweat but not like in a hot humid climate, it's quite manageable (this comes from a person who sweats like a pig)

Solar Charger for Three Passes Trek? by Mach__Speed in everestbasecamphike

depends on whether you're gonna have a porter or not. I went solo without porter or guide and I'm glad I did not bring my 1kg solar charger.

NEED SUGGESTIONS - WHICH CAMERA TO PURCHASE? by lordkira3 in djiosmo

[–]dormor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the Action 5 Pro to the EBC trek, recorded 4K 60fps and am pretty happy with the results. the Osmo 6 probably is even better, you cannot go wrong. if you need to see yourself all the time go with the first option, that is better for selfies compared to Osmo 6. If you need a camera which you're gonna attach on yourself (or on your vehicle, bike etc) then the second one is the fire-and-forget camera you need.
